Every other class has a skill unique to that class that no other squaddie has.  In most cases, that skill is what makes playing as that class fun.  (although singularity is good, it pales next to cloak, charge, or armor)
Sure other classes may not have drone, but 2 squaddies do, so it hardly counts as a unique skill.

Engineer needs its own unique skill!!!!

There is a big difference between Chiktikka (sp?) and Shepdrone, as has been pointed out to me.

The squad drones are not even remotely close to being any where near as good as Shep's drone. Three second cooldown, I repeat, THREE SECOND COOL DOWN on a something that essentially takes up anything other than a preatorean's complete attention is a godsend.

I'd agree with you except for the fact that my engineer can stand out in the open and solo a heavy mech, that's unique enough for me.

Yeah, seriously, combat drone is great.

And congratulations for being like the twentieth person to make a thread complaining about this.

Your argument is poorly backed up. Granted Drone is a power owned by two other squad mates, they pale in comparison. Their cooldowns are 30 seconds with a duration of 16 seconds while your cooldown is 3 seconds with a duration of 20 seconds. This gives you the ability to use it more frequently, making it easier to control more challenging opponents such as Harbinger and YMIR mechs.

I, personally, think giving Tali and Legion Drones was actually smart on Bioware's part. The drone itself has incredible control that could only be matched with singularlity. Other classes, such as Vanguard, Soldier, Sentinel and even Infiltrator, lack the ability to control the battlefield, making certain missions such as Horizon, the Collector Ship and Garrus' loyalty mission, hard for them to complete. The ability to take Tali and or Legion's drones along makes it easier, though not by much.

I, personally, think that Drone and Singularlity are the two best powers in the game as they are the most effective tools for controlling the battlefield. However, every other class' special power is the best to fit that certain class' unique playstyle.

I've developed lazy eye since one eye is always drawn to it, so I know how you feel. :/

Drone is very powerful, Tali's and Legion's versions suck compared to ShepDrone. It basically is not even the same ability.

They don't suck, they're just not spammable like Shepard's, thus making them situational. Using them against Harbinger when he's flanking you. Using them against the YMIR Mech to give you time to move into a different position. They're not solid tanks like Shepard's, but they can weaken the pressure and give you time to either move or execute a kill. I  wouldn't change anything about them.

I did not say the suck. I did say the suck COMPARED TO ShepsDrone, which is true.

I got the same first impression of Engineers until I realized that Shep's drone had a 3 sec cooldown. Then I realized the class was awesome. Easiest Insanity run I ever had was with the Engineer, to be honest.

Engineer is really fun. Just finished a playthrough yesterday with one. I do wish that no other character on the squad had the drone power though. I don't care if theirs sucks compared to Sheps ... let the class ability be unique.

I'm actually glad they gave the drone to two of your squadmates. I learned how awesome the Drone was through Legion.

Does anyone else get the impression that dipdunk is just looking for stuff to complain about?

I get the impression every class should have its own unique skill. I love my Engi but I definitely wish that the PC was the only one who could use a drone.

That would mean Chitika vas Paus would not be in the game, and that would be UNACCEPTABLE.

But, seriously, I noticed this, too, and thought it funny. Then I played an Engineer, and realized I was very wrong. Three second cooldown for guaranteed crowd control on a single enemy. Epic.

Yeah, dude, I was untouchable with my Engi and Tali. Throw out double drones, pop em off with Garrus. Voila. Never had a problem.  Went through on Adept and really missed that beautiful, beautiful tech team.

2 or even 3 drones on the field at once IS powerful. Not disputing that. It IS cute that Tali named her drone. Not disputing that. I still wish that the Engi drone was only available to the PC.

It would be very acceptable to NOT have Tali's drone or Legion's drone, in my opinion.

Garrus and Tali totally rocks off the boat for any mission involving blue suns and geths - just like the good old times in ME1. *sniff*

exactly Chikita comes in that sweet purpleish color.  But in all seriousness the cooldown alone makes Shep's far more useful

Yeah, I can understand that. It does feel good to have a skill that no one else has. I mean, we got upgrades from Cerberus, right? Should be a little something practical to go along with the lava scars. B)
