Use sniper + cain if you have them
The fight is really boring, long and repetitive. Take your time no need to rush it.
I recommend using samara and thane for their reave/warp on armor
Also if you are inclined to use bonus powers reave will also help
Use the smg if out of pistol ammo/sniper. With Inferno ammo it does alright vs armor.

Also, Mordin's Incinerate and Zaeed's Inferno Grenade will do damage to the boss since it's all armor. Use it every time it's up... I mean hell, they're free! If you did want to start over, I would suggest Thane/Samara and the Vindicator since those Squadmates have Warp and Reave which do damage to Barrier and Armor. Samara with the Vindicator and Thane with a Sniper Rifle. Should be good.
Edit: I said Miranda in one sentence when I meant Samara

The GPR is pretty weak against armour so you're probably best off attacking the larvae with the pistol as much as you can. If you've got the cain, use it. Harbinger will drop special ammo cases that work like heavy weapon cases, which mean they also give you tons of regular ammo, so don't be afraid to empty the pistol's entire ammo reserves as fast as you can. When the pistol runs out start emptying smg clips into his face on full-auto until you get more ammo.
Another thing to consider is that the larvae's own attack isn't all that dangerous, it will not instakill you from full shields, so it's only really a threat when there's enemies around. Otherwise just keep firing and don't worry so much about being caught in the blast (though ducking into cover at the last second is obviously preferable).

All the advice here is sound, might be able to offer more advice if you could say what kills you.

Watch Average Gatsby's live play on his Adepting through Insanity page. The final boss' monster SDF-1 reflex cannon (harr harr) actually kills enemy Collector Drones and severely weakens Guardians/Assasins/Harbinger.

Stephenc13, I couldn't tell who you were responding to, so I'll repeat, never kill harbinger first, that just gives him opportunity to take over a different collector. Kill the collector's first, harbinger last.
Oh, that would probably be smart, but by the time i kill off the collectors, the reaper pops up somewhere else, and more collectors fly in from nowhere

Do you have enough cain ammo to fire it twice? I've noticed that if you fire it twice it seems to stop collector/harbinger spawn for a while. In the vid I posted they didn't actually spawn until I already had the collector at less then 1/4 health.

Yes, in my experience it seems that at key health thresholds the reaper larvae will destroy platforms when he shows up instead of spitting plasma or spawning collectors. So if you whittle his health down very quickly you seem to avoid enemies for a bit.sinosleep wrote...

The first time I took down the larvae I did so without heavy weapons (wanted to make a run without using medigel or HW), later I brought the cain to see the difference and it was a quite different experience. If you're incapable of good dps against the larvae you will be stuck grinding collectors for quite some time.
