I have a Samsung 1080p PC/TV 22in screen($175used) that has a HDMI jack in the back so I can hook up to my xbox 360 that also has HDMI support and I have noticed the difference in color and sound.
HD TV's are expensive ($350-$600) and the HDMI cords are $5 on Ebay so thats up to you if you want to spend the money. as my opinion, do you play games a lot? do you want a better experience playing the games you own? most games have HDMI 1080p support like Rainbow Six Las Vegas

Just hook your Xbox to a top notch PC monitor, yeah it's more trouble. But if you have the right one you can get higher res for cheeper.
