While I've seen many support the killing power of the Revenant, I've also heard rumors about the GPR's power when mixed with Armor-Piercing Ammo.  So my question is, which would serve the Soldier the best?

The GPR sucks, use the Vindicator if you don't want the Revenant.

Forget both of them and grab a sniper rifle. Best thing my Vanguard ever did, even though it made nearly all of his abilities useless.

Seconded. I busted out the GPR for the Collector Station on Insanity. Even with Tungsten Ammo equipped, it felt like I was blowing kisses at them.

As a Soldier, I stay with the Vindicator AR and pick the Widow.

You're doing it wrong.

Not to say picking a sniper is wrong, but if you feel it obsoletes almost all the abilities of the class...?

I won't be using the Widow on my Soldier because I prefer close/medium range combat with assault rifles. For longer ranged shots, I'll be using the Viper.

Well, thanks for the insight.

If you don't want the widow you should definitely go for the revenant. Claymore is not a good option, the Eviscerator is a good sub for it anyway.

The Eviscerator is actually stronger then the Claymore i think(lol) the Claymore is only one shot too it sucks.
As for the GPR I always use it just becuase i feel badass and it sounds cool and looks cool lol.

GPR vs. Revenant? No contest. Similar role, one is clearly better.

this thread, contains the DPS for the weapons, it shows that the Claymore and Eviserator are almost equal in damage output for shield, armor, and health.

I don't like much the GPR, going with AP ammo, I rip through the enemy defenses extremely fast, but I feel the damage it does to life is too low. Tho I'm a sentinel, maybe it has to do something :>

Get the revenant, Rifle accuracy, and the GPR is shown to be the weakling it is.

Revenant is the best weapon aggressive Soldier can have. Geth Pulse Rifle is pretty bad.

I only give the Geth Pulse Rifle to Legion for fun factor. Revenant is the Hand of God!
