I just completed Legions loyalty mission and the suicide mission has become available. I was wondering if I could go to a few plantets to buy some upgreades without it resulting in the crew getting liquified. This article seems to contradict itself in this regard. Will going to different planets to buy upgrades take too much time?

"You also encounter one of the Horizon
colonists, Lilith, just before she is dissolved in the tubes. If you
chose to better prepare your team then Kelly Chambers is the one
liquefied in the tube. However, you can still buy upgrades and do
Legion's loyalty mission before going through the Omega-4 relay and she
will not be liquefied.
Note: It is possible to complete Legion's loyalty mission and
save Kelly Chambers, but only if you complete it immediately after
recruiting Legion, without landing on any other planets/stations."

If you do, you'll lose crew members (not team members). I recommend you go back to a save BEFORE you get the IFF and complete ALL your upgrades. Note: If you don't have ship upgrades, you'll lose team members. You don't have to have the Medical Bay, extra fuel and extra probes upgrades.
