If you are even remotely interested in having Bioware add support for the wired/wireless 360 controllers, please bump this thread.
It took a guy one night to make an .ini for ME1 that added decent controller support. I can't imagine it taking Bioware more than a week to get it live if they wanted.
Whether or not you agree using a controller is better than a mouse and keyboard, there is no reason PC users shouldn't have the choice.
Bioware already took the time to program and create a control scheme for the 360 controller. All they need to do is implement it.
Petition: Please add 360 controller support

Bioware - please include 360 controller support on all your bad-ass games!
I'm pretty sure MS has BW's nuts tied on this issue. Even so, let's get this done.

Check online for gamepads with vibrations from both Microsoft and Logitech. They both sell far better controllers than the basic 360 controller. There are also programs that come with both that you can map keys too and even enable vibrations. I don't know why anyone would want to risk breaking the game for something inferior. Also, the other Microsoft gamepads aren't listed on their site but you can still find them. ME2 is not a console port like ME1, they were primarily made side by side hense them being released at the same time and running quite well (when it runs).

Leo, I bought the MS 360 controller. Lets quit making excuses for software that doesn't work with our hardware. I got SRIMK to thank for making my gaming experience better. C'mon, I really want to thank BIOWARE but i CAN'T- because they left out controller support for a gamepad they already mapped and developed for.

I find it ironic that there's no X-Box 360 Controller support when the gameplay elements are obviously streamlined for consoles, i.e. controllers.
Not that I would ever use it, but these guys deserve to play THEIR game THEIR way. Please consider this BioWare.

All I got to say is buy hardware and use hardware where its meant to be used, not where it can be used. Thus get a PC gamepad, and don't use a XBOX controller on a pc... XBOX controller meant for XBOX but can be used for PC, hense not being fully supported...
Anyhow in the ini files there was a mention about using a joystick but it was set to false, someone could reenable it and try again. By the way, windows xp an interface to set up joysticks/gamepads. I am not sure where they are located in Windows Vista or 7.

No, it doesn't work like that.
Because of XInput, X-Box 360 controller is as compatible with PC as other PC controllers if not more. Especially if the game is ported from X-Box 360 itself.

KANDID, you got it right. The problem with "web 2.0" is folks like LEO running dialogue that wreaks of 'uninformed'. No offense of course.
Xbox controller support is absent from the ME2 game because why?

Got my logitech gamepad working quite fine... If the xbox360 controller was so compatible why isnt it working? All this proves is that you are quite uninformed and not to mention but there is a difference between "can" and "does". My logitech game pad does work, while the xbox360 controller can work. This game is technically not a full port, they just tried to use the same files for each so they didn't have to do double the work. By the way, the gamepad appears in "Devices and Printers" in Windows 7.
In answer to your question, the xbox controller is not supported since its an xbox controller, irellivant if you can use it on the pc. Anyhow doesn't microsoft have a program to map things to the controller? I would imagine they do, since I have one for my keyboard atleast. If microsoft has such a program, use it.
This is in the Coalesced.ini file:
[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
AudioDeviceclass=WwiseAudio.WwiseAudioDevice
StartupFullscreen=false
EditorPreviewFullscreen=False
StartupResolutionX=1280
StartupResolutionY=720
UseVSYNC=FALSE
MinAllowableResolutionX=0
MinAllowableResolutionY=0
MaxAllowableResolutionX=0
MaxAllowableResolutionY=0
MinAllowableRefreshRate=0
MaxAllowableRefreshRate=0
ParanoidDeviceLostChecking=1
AllowJoystickInput=0 <----------- i bet if you change that, things will work

there are programs that will let you map keyboard/mouse commands to a controller just get one and spend the hours doing it yourself.
