I really enjoyed this game. I spent the last month @ 2-3 hours a night working through the main story line, DLC and companion quests and I was consistently intrigued.

I turned on Jowan berating him for being a Blood Mage to eventually get it on with the Demon of pleasure obtaining the Blood Magic specialization. lol.

I did save the kid. but he disappeared at the end of the game ... oops. :P

I later slayed Wynne because she got in my way in the tower. I was really hoping for some sort of arc and consequence of me being a Blood Mage ... I didn't ever experience it.

I sided with the Lady and slayed Zathrian
(don't hold grudges!). Nature chicks with werewolves as friends are
friends of mine.

Sten tried to leave the group. He wanted to fight and lost - he stayed and became my goto guy. I'm gonna miss him if he doesn't return. He's a stud.

Alistair was a pain in the butt. Spoiled brat. I benched him the entire game even taking away his gear. At the end he didn't like me much (especially when I attempted to be the matchmaker) and I had him sent away. Sparing his life though ...

From the very beginning attempted a romantic connection with Morrigan. Since Nani is a girl Morrigan wasn't up to it - but I did get her capped in her approval of me. :) Never say never.

Shale ... what can I say? My tank and shield in battle.

Loghain ... I bounce between him and Shale for tanking abilities. Awesome.

I originally intended on being primary DPS but after slaying Wynne found myself morphed into the party's healer. It ended up being a combo spec but what fun!

The dwarves are awesome - I love the son of the dwarf in camp "Enchantment .... Enchantment!". And Ogrhen what a champ. I hope for more Dwarf fun.

I'm gonna go back and finish the DLC and remaining personal quests. I will be skipping the expansion initially. May return in the fall though.

Things I didn't like?
1. Load times. Annoying even on a high end system. Totally broke the flow of the game. Huge negative.
2. Loot. Needed better and more variety in abilities and aesthetics.
3. Money. Never had enough. No I wasn't gonna go through the game holding my hand out every time I completed a quest.

You missed out on the consequences of being a blood mage because you killed Wynne from the get-go. She is the one that tries to tattle on you to Irving when she realizes you've been using blood magic in the tower. If you have been saving your game multiple times, just go back and redo the tower and keep Wynne alive to see how that plays out.

You should have been a dwarf all along! If you ever find the time to play one, would love to see your enthused reactions to the origins. Sandal would approve. ;)

You can improve the load times by scaling back the video options. Turning off anti-aliasing made a huge difference to the load times and in-game lag. My computer's 2 years old and my graphics card is a little more than enough to play the game, but I noticed a marked difference in game performance overall by simply reducing the settings. Such as turning off the Buffer checkbox, turn off Anti-aliasing and reducing graphic detail from Very High to High.

@Zy-El - What I was trying to get at (but didn't communicate clearly) was the fact there are load screens and there shouldn't be - at least put to a minimum. They break the flow of the narrative and suspension of belief in the game world. It's just one of those pet peeves I have in gaming.

I understand technically they need to be there depending on how the engine was coded and considering lowest common denominator in platforms (pc vs ps3 and 360). But when exploring from the world to a new room (from a city and into a tavern for example) - that's just silly. I just wished they would have considered it more - maybe they will ???

Yeah, the load times were unbelievable. I have a great i7 system, built it myself last year. Load times were just too much, even for small areas, and I had numerous issues with the map locking up and seeming to freeze... but then continuing. Ugh. And the memory leak after several hours was just insane. So I pretty much did 4-hour blocks anyway since that's about when the loading times become bad, but still, it wasn't cool. =/

I'll check out the video options next time I play, thanks for the advice Zy-El. =) However like the OP, I thought some of the load screens were very out of place. One in particular, at the end... it's during your huge end sequence, and it just felt really .... bam, out of it.

There is a memory leak issue with the load times; for some, they get progressively longer and longer the more hours you play. The only fix (because I don't think they've patched it yet) is to save, exit to the main menu, and reload.

Other than that occasional issue, the load times for me were almost nonexistent. I think my longest one was five seconds, and I have graphical settings on max for everything.

He  was meaning the amount of time you need to load a new zone .. Not how much time it's take loading(Although sometime i have nightmarish loading time on my pc)

The graphic are nothing exceptionnal but they certaintly take a huge chump of memory and it's start making you lag (for me anyway) .. unless you have 10 gig of ram and run the last chip .Which's not my case .. i run the game on XP with a 8800gt OC2 ( my pc a lil over 2 years old)

Age Of conan had the same problem before. You could not even run Shader model 3 or the game would crash ...
Game with lot of loading like NWN /DA/AoC tend to have this problem.Probably because of the huge amount of resource it's take on a PC when you load a new zone each 15 minutes.

Remind me of Half-life 2 abck in the day...The loading time was insane (like 5 minutes) .. But than no loading for 2 hours. It's was better that way.

I was talking about loading new zones too. When I leave an area and enter a new one, it barely takes any time at all. Much faster than most games I've played, in fact. Certainly a lot faster than my Xbox version of DA:O.

I had no idea there was a memory leak issue - the game ran like a tank and seemed rock solid. When experiencing the load times it just seemed out of place for a high-end i7 system.

Yeah, it's a common problem. Not everyone has it, but it's a known issue.

Loads screens come with Bioware games. I'm sure there is a technical reason involving the type of engines they use or the coding they do or some such, but Bioware games have always always used them. At least they make good use of them by putting fun and sometimes useful facts.

However, if you hate load times in this game, then you'll despite them in Mass Effect 2. Everytime you go someone else on your ship, you get like a three minute load screen. Easily double the time of Dragon Age's load screens.
