What are your system specs? Sounds like an unsupported videocard to me. Especially the Intel ones.

I asked you about your videocard, not some random information.

Hook, line and sink. Your videocard does not meet the system requirements.

The system requirements say:

* NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or better (7300, 7600 GS, and 8500 are below minimum

system requirements)

* ATI X1300 XT or better (X1300, X1300 Pro, X1600 Pro and HD2400 are below

minimum system requirements)

Intel videochips are NOT supported.

Let's hope you're not owning a laptop. With a real PC you can insert a real videocard.

The system requirements say:

* NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or better (7300, 7600 GS, {plus 8400}, and 8500 are below minimum

minimum system requirements)

Also, as I have pointed out during the entire time that there has been any PC version of ME-1, the fools at EA are illiterate when it comes to video cards.

The Radeon X1600 was somewhat low-powered for its time period, but so was nVIDIA's Geforce 6600 GT, and the X1600 could handle shaders much better than the 6600 GT.  When the Geforce 7600 GT made the X1600 Pro look slower than a tortoise, it was renamed to "X1300 XT", and is the exact same card.  To match to the 7600 GT, ATI offered the X1650 XT for speed, although the X1650 Pro could beat the 7600 GT if there were a lot of shaders in use.

It doesn't seem to me that ME-1 needs the shaders, but rather the higher core speed, and faster VRAM speed, so that means this game should have named the X1650 XT as the minimum Radeon (the Geforce 6800 GS falls about midway between the X1650 Pro and the Geforce 7600 GT.  The Geforce 6800 GT held onto a performance lead over its younger and less expensive cousin.

I point this out, in case this thread's OP, or some following noob, wants to try using that "X1300 XT" that is both the official minimum, as well as (in its correct name), officially "unsupported"

P. S.  ME-2 may be enough better-optimized to run on the older X1600 Pro, but I think that the 1650 Pro is still the better PRACTICAL minimum choice.

Yeah, repeat a question that was already answered. Very helpful.
