Try either Dwarf Commoner (Best f-you moment in the game), City Elf (female) (Rage filled revenge weasel time) or Mage (not so hot as an origin, but great class). Or if you really like traditional elves, then the Dalish await.

The Dwarf Commoner moment I was thinking of was in the Provings.

I can't really compare it to the other origins since I have yet to play a second, but the Mage origin was pretty interesting and it comes up later in Redcliffe and in other places.

I haven't played them all, but some are more tied into the story then others.

Mage for example isn't probably the longest or most entertaining, but it gives you a strong background to the overall story.  Where Jowan came from any why he is the way he is.  Also the confilct between Templars and Mages and why it is the way it is.  That alone could influence the Circle quest as well as you decision with Jowan.

It gives you a good feel for the Chantry early on so it really offers a lot for the overall story.  It makes sense that it offers so much info becasue really the Mages are probably the most intelligent group and are largely respected by most races for power and authority.

Unlike the Dwarf Commoner story, it seemed kinda isolated to what is going on overall.  It was probably more entertaining to play though.  Human noble wasn't too bad and does give a little more insight to the main story or at least a greater connection to Ostagar and Howe.

I haven't played the Dalish yet so I couldn't comment on those.

Dalish has a more generic fantasy feel to it. However, there is a heart-wrenching encounter later in the game that relates back to the origin. Dalish has a lot of closure to it.

I enjoyed the dalish origin. Dalish rogue was my first playthrough. The elves at the brecillian camp respond to you much better of course then when you play as a human or other race. They talk to you with respect instead of disdain.

I've played through all the origins and liked the way it made me see the bigger picture of things.

What sort of characters do you like to play?

Also, what sex do you want to play and are you interested in romance? If so, with whom?

Personally - loved Human Nobel and Dalish Elf origins the most.

With Dwarf Nobel, i felt jilted. I mean, come on, I'm not only accused but found guilty without ever getting to say a word, and my father THE KING (i might add)...just accepts this?? Lame...

Dalish elf origin - I really enjoyed this origin. My duty bound elf had a heartfelt moment at the end of this one.

My mage - interesting, but made me feel left between a rock and a hard place.

Male dwarf commoner rogue is a fun origin. As is Dalish rogue. IMHO, city elf is best done female.

I think dwarf commoner rogue starts off as a dual wielder. I think Dalish rogues start as archers, but I could be wrong.

I liked City Elf, it had a proper viallain and gave you an idea of the hardships of the city elves that you didn't really get to know in other Origins.

The dwarf commoner is good aswell, it definately gives you a me against the world feeling.

I was kind of disappointed with the Dalish Elf one. It started great with me and Tamlen but then it ended with a sputter rather than a bang. I would have liked for more to happen with the artifact. But there is a moment later on that is very poignant.

City elf is my favourite origin. But I think it works better as the bride than as the groom.

I definitely agree that City Elf works better as the bride (or The Bride =P). If you're going male, I'd probably say Dwarf Commoner, Dalish Elf works too though. I think Mage is better as a female character due to the extra little dialogue options you get.

City Elf (female), great revenge very early on. Kind of dark actually.

Best Angry Female Role: Toss up between human noble and city elf (some of the things Howe says make me want to kick him hard again and again and again......and what woman doesn't dream of taking revenge of the sort City elf gets to enact?

Least emotionally engaging female role: Mage. You either come off prissy or rebellious and for what? Wish the cause were more important.

Loneliest female role: Dwarf noble. Being condemned in such a fashion gave me the total creeps, but then I hate those small dark places anyway. Besides, to whom do you really relate throughout the story? All those tall folk?

Most poignant role male or female? Dalish Elf. I wanted to cry when I left, I wanted to cry at camp later in the story....just when you think that you've come to terms in that role, you get your heart handed to you with a knife through it.

Happiest origin? Dwarf commoner. You get to go from a place of no hope to a place of high drama. Can't ask for more than that. I was happy to go

Dalish and dwarf seem to stand out more and more though city elf looks promising to
