So apparently I'm feeling all sappy and romantic today, or something, but I thought this could be fun.

Our characters don't have theme songs of their own, so how about we provide a bit of a soundrack for them?  NPCs or your own PCs, the more the merrier.

If sharing things like youtube links isn't permissble, we could always just link to song lyrics.  The ones that came to mind were for romances, but do feel free to share what you think for others.  And yes, I was on a Journey kick, so that's what's getting shared first.


I think this one is totally Zevran romance carried to its end - Journey's When You Love a Woman
Alistair's romance - Journey's Open Arms
And a still-in-love post-Landsmeet Alistair romance - Journey's Separate Ways (Miles Apart)
And I gotta say, for this last one, I am SO glad that I was just barely too young to remember 80s fashion like that.

I laughed with the Zevran one - I can see that (though being a Crow, he wouldn't actually come cheap ;-)  )  but I burst out laughing when I clicked the Howe one.  YES!

For Alistair I keep thinking about Bif Naked's Lucky Probably since they both were lucky to escape Ostagar with their lives. Also, on my first play, I didn't know about 'hardening' him. So of course I was a little devastated when I got the "we need to talk" speech, so the line "How could I ever get over you..." kinda hit home.
(But, good thing I saved b4 the Landsmeet and made Anora queen)
Hmmmm now I kinda want to go through again, just to see what songs would match different characters

I'll go more with general styles versus specifics songs.



Alistair: Bubblegum punk like Green Day.



Sten: Driving Metal. Something along the lines of Slayer or maybe Slipknot.



Morrigan: Gotta be goth or emo stuff like Marylin Manson.



Lelianna: Something along the lines of Melissa Ethridge



Zevran: Don't know why but a band like Styx comes to mind. Or maybe Queen. A larger than life character like Freddie Mercury.



Wynne: Something before my day.



Oghren: Hmm, what kind of music would a drunken Dwarf like?

Oghren: Lynyrd Skynyrd. Oghren is very much like a biker. So redneck rock for Oghren.

And I have to disagree about Sten. He's very much into discipline and art. So classical, especially Bach, and cool jazz are more his taste.

Wynne is Ms. Conventional so she would be relentlessly pop, American Idol type stuff.

You know, I never would have thought of that song for Alistair, but a lot of the lyrics fit.  The line with the roses amuses me, given his gift.  And "I'd give my life for yours" definitely describes the way many of my characters feel about him - not to mention his in love/still in love no DR ending.  Good choice!  Though the version of the song they link that page is terrible...I like the one I have on my computer better.

I admit I am a total romantic, so I imagine it tears them both being apart, especially seeing each other every day and what they go through for the year (?) they are on the road.

I was going with the drinking theme. With songs such as "Bring us Pints of Beer", "Lets Drink" and "Happy Little Boozer"... Plus, metal and beards. Totally Dwarf like.

Perhaps 'Within Temptation' would be an acceptable compromise? As symphonic metal, it would seem to qualigy, although the lyrics aren't particularly Sten-like as I recall.

Also, Lily Allen's "Knock 'em out" always makes me think of the time my game bugged out on the Lelianna romance and she would not stop trying to pick up my Warden. At least, I assume it bugged...
