Guys, if you had a migraine even once you would understand that he is, in fact, don't whine and acts quite closed about it.

Yeah, I have chronic migraines due to a head injury. I have one right now. Every day of my life. Kaiden is not whining. I can show you some whining about migraines lol.

Jacob, well, I could never romance him because the conversations are so damn painful that I just don't talk to him except when I have no choice. Worse damn voicing in the game. Just gawdawful. This is not how I imagine my femshep talking or acting.

Heh, not the best moment for Hale. Or the voice director either.

You can sort of navigate through it all and keep Jacob in the friend zone, but you have to block out FemShep's leering horniness mentally.

Was this the result of all those "FemShep isn't feminine enough!" threads in the old forums? Can we get the "professional soldier who happens to be a woman" back in ME3, please?

You have it in ME2, just never talk to Jacob except when getting his loyalty mission. And even then, it's all Renegade responses, even on my Paragon. Making it clear I don't like you Jacob. Deal with it.

QFT.  I actually think the Jacob scenes were written for regular guys who play femSheps.  Not being one of those, my Paragon just never spoke to him and my Renegade would go in and yell at him for more Renegade points.

If my Renegade could have spaced him, she would have.

It's too bad there isn't a way to force him to hook up with Miranda so he would leave femShep the hell alone.

I'd like to point out that in ME2 if you if you tell him his squad sounded just like another gang he will tell you that their cardinal rule was no civilian casualities. At least that's what he said in my game, don't know about yours. Posted Image

I don't get why people think Kadain is whiney either. Hell, most of the time he talks when he is pressed by the person in question. He is more guarded than anyone in the crew, because of him being a L two's implant, As you know, L2 are seen as unstable beings in the Me universe, and he is afraid to open up to shepard I thought it was touching too see him opening up to my shepard. Heck most of Garrus lines were more of a whiner than Kaidan's were. Thane giving my female shepard the same nickname as his dead wife made me feel like a replacement for her.

Now with Jacob, I cringed every-time that I talked to him. The director deiced to go with a over sexualized Voice over when the female is talking to Jacob. God it felt like, I was a **** trying to get laid.

I agree, that people tend to over react when they whine about things. Garrus tends to over react about things a lot. He over reacted about C sect, and people having a right not to get beat up while being arrested. I tend to agree, with his father no one should be above the law, or not have a chin of command to keep them in check. Heck, I did see his father points about the specter's, and his point is why I hate having Black water Security in war zones. It puts the people that I know in the military at risk, because they have a habit of being trigger happy. It also makes criminals more violate when they meet another cop.

I just had the most awesome vision.

*Shep drags Jacob down to the trash compactor*

Shep: "Hey Zaeed, help me stuff this a-hole out the garbage chute!"

Jacob: "But, but, the priiiiize! I looooove you! You're my prize!"

Zaeed: "Bloody hell shut up!"

Shep: "I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions!"

*punches eject*

Zaeed: "So I wonder if it's 51 or 52 operatives now.."

Shep shrugs: I'm just glad I don't have to listen to him antagonizing my friends and second guessing my orders all the time.. why the hell did I talk to him like that anyways? Musta just been to mess with his head.. yeah, that's it.."

Zaeed: "Whatever you say Shepard."

Jacob is boring. Also, I turn into a cheesy nineties porn star every time I talk to him.

Kaidan 100%.

He's sweet, good-looking, stable, intelligent, and can kick a lot of biotic ass.  He's also is one of the few characters that sees Shepard as a person and not as just as THE Shepard.  His reaction on
Horizon is also probably the most believable.  He's stressed out from dealing with colonists on Horizon, just starting to get his life back in order after losing Shepard, and is being brushed off by Anderson whenever he makes inquiries about the rumors that swirling about.

It hasn't been a good couple days for him.

Only then to have the rug yanked out from underneath his feet.  He blew up, got angry, it was understandable.  It doesn't help that the writers totally dropped the ball when it came to Shepard's responses (Oh hai.  Don't want to open up any old wounds).  He needed time to cool off, think things through.  I bet if we had the chance
to meet up with Kaidan later in the game again, the second meeting would have gone more smoothly.

I don't think he would come with Shepard, since he is willing to stick to his beliefs instead of just following her around like a love-sick puppy.  I respect him for that.

The email was also perfect when it came to Kaidan.  He has trouble expressing himself , doesn't know where Shepard is emotionally (if she has moved on, is angry, decided to become a crazy cat-lady), and he is leaving himself a way out.

(And for the people complaining about being forced into the Kaidan romance, I dunno, how about actually reading the responses instead of just picking the top response because it the paragon one?  Game actually works a lot better that way.)

So for me, the romances in ME2 are terrible. I found the whole staring-contest with the photograph much more romantic than any of the (pseudo)sex-scenes.

Jacob, Thane, and Garrus are all great characters.  I like them, I made sure they survived the ending;
I just didn't find anything attractive about them.  Either appearance wise or personality wise.

Jacob has overly defined shoulders and chest and the lower body of child.  Not a good look.  And men should never wear spandex pants unless they're dancing or in the Olympics.  He made it a literal "booty" call.  And the dialogue for this romance would have been fitting with some Bow
Chika Wow-wow
playing in the background.

As for Thane.  I personally hope they don't cure him.  It was the only thing that made him half-interesting (though
personally, I found him terribly boring and rather disgusting looking). He was basically a Carth-clone, minus the anger and passion that made Carth a great character.

And Garrus reminds me of a spoiled little brother who thinks the world should be like the movies.  Yes, Garrus we know the Man is keeping you doooooowwwwnn.  You want to blow up a bus full of nuns and babies to stop a jaywalker.  Oh, look I just fixed your problems and now you're complaining on how I did
it.  Oh, you're thanking me by telling me how you scored with a turian chick, TMI kthxbai.

And romancing him?  Ick, talk about chafing.

THIS

This post matches my feelings about Kaidan and the ME2 romance partners exactly.

Yeah... because he's supposed to talk smack in front of his superior officer. The scene doesn't make him a whimp, it means he's smart.

Depends on the Shepard. If she wants a boink buddy with hot chocolatey abs, then Jacob is awesome. ;)

But if she wants one of those sweeping dramatic love stories with her beta male sidekick where they share a passionate moment, he thinks he lost her and tries to move on and sorta comes into his own a little more, then she's back and everything is turned upside down and maybe in ME3 against all odds they can finally be together... then Kaidan is awesome.

I personally like them both for different characters, but Jacob would earn a lot more points with me if in ME3 he developed the versatility of Jack's romance, where he can either be a booty call or a deep and involving romance where you peel away his layers of cynicism and that friendship gets warmer and deeper than before. Not in a pervy way. As it is, even though I wasn't much of a fan of him in ME1, I was happy to see him again in ME2 and I'm hoping it leads to something awesome in ME3. And I DON'T mean just a whole crapload of recycled Ashley lines voiced by Raphael Sbarge.

I just am a sucker for the war-torn long-term romance.

TO EVERYONE WHO CALLED KAIDAN A CAT OR SAID HE WAS A WUSS OR OSMETHING ELSE MEAN, THIS IS FOR YOU:

Lol. Thane and Garrus are both more whiny than Kaidan AND Jacob both. Especially Garrus as of ME1. Thane is just an emo lizard with artsy fartsy flashbacks.

Garrus and Thane don't whine. Kaidan and Jacob don't really whine either.

Honesty, stop whining about whining or else I'll go on a whining rampage of my own about how much I hate it when people whine about certain characters being whiny.

Geez. :P

OK. Then he is not whiny for you. Even if I didn't care about whining  Kaidan is  still boring, dull and unintersting as hell.  I can't forget Mansel in Distress picture a.k.a rescue from Virmire.  As a character Jacob seems better (minus romance) IMO.

Yes, it was such a horrible change of pace after almost every game I've played up until this point has been cute girl gets kidnapped because she's a complete ****** and it's up to you to go save her because she obviously can't do anything on her own. How terrible they changed that just once so it was the man who needed saving for once. What was femshep doing? She should have been taken off in a helicopter by Saren so Kaidan can be a man and rescue her <_<

That scene was one of the greatest things ever for me because for once there was no gender stereotypes and I got to be the hero.

Yes. It was.:?  Attractiveness of a man is hitting a floor for me, when I see him being carried by a woman in a damsel fashion. Whatever floats your boat I guess.
