Lol. Thane and Garrus are both more whiny than Kaidan AND Jacob both. Especially Garrus as of ME1. Thane is just an emo lizard with artsy fartsy flashbacks.
Garrus and Thane don't whine.Kaidan and Jacob don't really whine either.
Honesty, stop whining about whining or else I'll go on a whining rampage of my own about how much I hate it when people whine about certain characters being whiny.
Geez.
OK. Then he is not whiny for you. Even if I didn't care about whining Kaidan is still boring, dull and unintersting as hell. I can't forget Mansel in Distress picture a.k.a rescue from Virmire. As a character Jacob seems better (minus romance) IMO.
Yes, it was such a horrible change of pace after almost every game I've played up until this point has been cute girl gets kidnapped because she's a complete ****** and it's up to you to go save her because she obviously can't do anything on her own. How terrible they changed that just once so it was the man who needed saving for once. What was femshep doing? She should have been taken off in a helicopter by Saren so Kaidan can be a man and rescue her <_<
That scene was one of the greatest things ever for me because for once there was no gender stereotypes and I got to be the hero.
Yes. It was.Attractiveness of a man is hitting a floor for me, when I see him being carried by a woman in a damsel fashion. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Jacob is not really a strong character, he is just a douche who critizes all of Shep's decision's and shoves his face in every meeting whether it is to welcome a new crewmember or make a major decision in the game. Add to this the fact the director forced all dialog with Jacob to be sleazy flirting and the romance to run like a bad porno and there is no reason fo any femShep to like Jacob. The very few Jacob defender's are people who played maleShep and see Jacob as a buddy character to some extent.

I hate this stereotype. I hate that my gender is always the damsel in distress.

It's classic romanticism, propogated particularly during Arthurian cycles. Women are there to either be protected and won over (read: Olwen, Iseult, etc) or as antagonists or hinderers of knights in shining armour (Morgan).
Also, I blame Disney.

Same thing for Kaidan wearing Ashley's underwear on the Normandy, unless he likes hot pink.

It's a bunch of **** is what it is. We
aren't hunter-gatherers living in the wilderness anymore. Women can be
pretty hardcore, and Kaiden got shot the hel up by a f*ckbillion geth.
He's no less a man for being carried off and the story is no worse for
it.

Kaidan 4EVA!!!!!
This. It's much easier just to use the same animation for both Ashley and Kaidan. I'm not saying that femShep couldn't or shouldn't carry Kaidan, but that people are assuming that Kaidan is less masculine when they haven't considered how often animations are reused. Basically what I'm seeing her is Kaidan just using Ashley's animations. Could be wrong. But it's much easier to plug characters into preset animations rather than creating new ones just for them.Shavon wrote...
Or it's just Bioware being lazy, lol.

There are lots of other reason's to hate Jacob as well, but since they have already been listed on the past pages I will not go through them all again, people should read at least some of the pages before they post.

Right, so if I happen to run into an injured man who needs my help to stand because of a gunshot wound in his side, I'll make sure to tell him to "suck it up and be a man, ****," before walking away. Seriously, a man is somehow weak because he needs assistance? I'm thinking there are many times where men in the military need to carry their wounded soldiers out of harm's way. Or is it just because it's a woman who does it? Should I have asked Wrex to do it for me?
I hate this stereotype. I hate that my gender is always the damsel in distress. I don't understand why this situation was so wrong. It makes perfect sense that a military woman in the future would be able to carry her team member off the battlefield. And it doesn't make Kaidan any less attractive to need assistance after being shot, I'm guessing, numerous times by geth.
