But the aliens are OK with it and the humans aren't?

Garrus is Dirty Harry and just wants to melt faces.  He doesn't care who pays the bills.

Tali is young and impressionable, hero worships Shepard, and has already shown poor judgement in sending her father geth parts without questioning what he was doing with them.

Ashley and Kaidan are the only ones who actually react realistically to Shepard's choice (yeah, I know we don't have a choice, but they don't know that) in joining Cerberus.  Even Anderson seems pretty chill about talking to a Cerberus agent, even though he won't tell you *everything* you want to know.

You and your friend/boyfriend/girlfriend are walking down the street one day. Everything is going fine but all of a sudden they trip and fall into the road and die. You see that person die. You know they're dead. You mourn them, you move on.

Flash forward 2 years. Your walking down a busy sidewalk and the person you saw dies, appears before you and asks you essentially,"whats up?"

You would be absolutely floored. You saw that person die, yet here they are standing in front of you, talking to you. Whatever came out of your mouth wouldn't make a whole lot of sense either. You would need a while to digest what had happened. Ashley's/Kaidan's reaction on Horizon was, if anything, not irrational enough. They held together just fine, and after thinking about the situation, they send you an email showing their true feelings.

Its not the perfect example, as this scenario leaves out the fact you've been told your friend is working for terrorists, but If you put yourself there, their reaction was fine. Bravo to BioWare though, for being able to write such a scenario that gets some people so pissed off. I know even I had mixed feelings about it until I really broke it down.

I did like a follow up response on the Normandy.. with Joker I think.. where Shep says "I've had enough of this garbage."

I know it's the same whether or not the Horizon encounter is an LI but still, the way Hale gave the line it made me personally feel the angst of someone who was this close to breaking down over the situation but knows she has to keep it together.

Hey we work with what we have right?

I was pissed the first time until I got the email. I probably wouldn't have remained loyal if it weren't for that.

Add to this scenario that your boyfriend/girlfriend had just been paralyzed temporarily and had *just* come out of it, and yeah, they might be a bit disoriented.

I always say the middle one about how he's moved on and she can't blame. Sounds like she's about to start bawling though, Joker tells her to go chat with Chambers to which she repilies how he's a real pal.

The only problem with that analogy, as someone points out is that rumors have been going on for two years fed out by TIM, that you were actually working for them.

Though why they're not hostile to you from the start, if that's the case, I can't seem to justify.

You know what gets me? After the suicide mission you can choose the same option and FemShep will ask if Jacob wants to talk IN A NORMAL, NON-SLEAZY VOICE.
So they freaking *had* a proper greeting for FemShep/Jacob recorded and they didn't use it till right at the end. Gimme a break.

THAT BUGGED ME SO MUCH TOO. They should have used the non-sleazy voice clip until and unless FemShep started romancing Jacob!

Yeah, never mind.

Anyhoo, tomfoolery aside, I would choose Kaidan over Jacob in this situation. Jacob seems to be in it for the sex moreso than the actual caring part. For instance, he's okay with Shephard pursuing him and another person in a relationship, so long as Shephard calls off the relationship on the other person. Soooo...either he's very bad at trying to be sensitive, or he wants Shephard as a best friend he can have sex with.

Kaidan changes his views on the Alliance and Citadel after they abandon the Normany in Mass Effect 1, his behavior will change depending on how Shephard treats him. That shows signs that he's willing to change and accept Shephard for who she is.

So yeah, I'll pick my whiny and sensitive Alliance Sentinel over the boring and casual Cerberus Soldier.

Also, no one's bothered to elaborate on how Ashley/Kaidan got out of the Collector Stasis they were put in. They just kinda show up after you've done all the work, despite being stung and frozen in the scene before you arrive.

Yeah, the "I've lost more than just time" response is the only one I ever go with. The others are just so unfeeling, considering how the Horizon conversation must have been really painful to both parties and Shep and Kaidan/Ash totally blew it, then telling Joker that "they seemed angry, but lol, whatevs" or "it went okay" is incomprehensible.

Can't assume TIM had been leaking it for 2 years. Most likely it was more recent. Still, people are telling you your loved one is alive, despite you seeing that person died. Its going to mess with your head and you probably aren't going to believe them.

I don't think it was actually the whole two years.  It seems to me it's only been maybe since Shepard's awakening, which is perhaps a couple months.  After all, Anderson says that they hadn't heard the rumors when he sent Kaidan on the mission.

Elation at seeing Shep. Their old commander, friend, possibly lover.
Then the memories of your "betrayal" come back and they have it out. I'm not sure if TIM was spreading his misinformation for the full 2 years. Probably more of a recent thing anyway, but enough time to stew over the possibilities and feel betrayed.

That's how long Shep's been dead, not how long TIM has been spreading the info that Shep's a Cerberus lackey.
Given that the purpose seemed to be to draw out the Collectors and possibly rile up Shep's old allies it would've been something he started after Shep woke up.

Who knows then. You were close to being ready so maybe he already started. A few months of rumours then a whopper to trick your LI into going to Horizion. Sounds like something that weasal would do...

I think he would have started spreading the rumor's a good bit before Shep woke up, probably as soon as the chance of SHep pulling through the experiment where looking optimistic.  You can go straight to the Citidel if you choose too, and they already have people on colonies looking into Cerberus and the chance that Shepard is working with them before you even arrive.

Truth.

Plus, he's a jerk anyways. He antagonizes my friends and second guesses all my decisions. "Oh let's kill it." "Oh, I don't think that's a good idea. I respect you more than anyone Shepard, so I'm going to tell you that you're wrong every chance I get" "Oh Tali, say hi to EDI, she's an AI lolol" " Oh Thane, you are incredibly freakin deadly and we need you on our side, so I'm gonna be an a-hole to you too."

*shake head*

List goes on.

lol pretty much.
They just went about it all wrong, having FemShep act like she immediately wants to get in his pants and having to steer your way out of it if you DON'T is just silly.

The whole "Miranda's too good for me" then "the priiiize" think is just the final straw. Okay so Shep is second best? Oh and has to be called a prize? What am I? Some vulnerable girl with self-esteem issues? I'm Commander Shepard, ****! Drop and give me 20 for insubordination... in Grunt's cargo bay!
