Hi,
This is my first post.  I'm new to modding and to DA but thought I'd share one little thing I just learned.  While trying to create a custom level, I was getting a "SpeedTreeCAD has stopped working" error for each tree I had created.  I found that the problem was in my Data Execution Prevention settings in Windows Vista.  Here's the fix:

open Control Panel
open System
click Advanced System Settings
click the Settings button under Performance
click the Data Execution Prevention tab
if you have the second option clicked ("Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select"), you must add SpeedTreeCAD to the list of allowed programs.  Click the ADD button, find SpeedTreeCAD in <DA Install Folder>/tools/export_processors/SpeedTreeCAD, and click OK.
