Is Velanna another Morrigan?

Velanna seems like she'll be her own character. I just wish they'd stop reusing all the same hairstyles for new NPCs. Using the few hairstyles original to certain characters weirds me out a bit.

The only thing that bothers me about Velanna is her hair. Did they HAVE to give her Morrigan's hair? Morrigan was the only female with a unique hairstyle. Now she suddenly isn't. :
I wouldn't even call her a mage more like druid to me.Morrigan's hair style looks cool on the elf, but i have to agree with you it was a uique hairstyle. they should have just giving her a new hairstyle.
Meh, I think it's ok that morrigan has to share her hair style, as it seems every other woman in this game shares a hair style with some other woman at some point!
Same for the men, well except duncan me thinks!

So no. There are no safe "original" hairstyles. Well.. Other than Oghren's anyway.

I actually like the dalish (and not because of Velanna being as she is).
So i hope they are not driven out to the wilderness once more.
By the way, just how big is the world in Dragon Age? We move on to a new part in Awakenings...will be there even more land to move into after this?
The mind boggles...and yes, ALL the women in Dragon Age were buxom...and i have to admit the girls were quite pretty don't you think?
Except Flemeth and Wynne of course.
I really liked Kaitlyn...and Leliana was my lover

Thedas (the continent Dragon Age takes place on) is very large. Here's a map: http://greywardens.c...r_1600x1200.jpg
As you can see, Ferelden is one country on a large continent, and just a small portion of what there is to see. In Awakening we're staying in Ferelden, just visiting a new part of it.
As for Velanna, she's nothing like Morrigan. Velanna is the way she is in defense of her clan. Morrigan is a selfish ****.
I can't wait to meet her with my Dalish rogue.

Uh, don't all females in Dragon Age share the same boobays?
Morrigan has a special model, doesn't she? But it only shows up with the Morrigan-specific costumes.
(Which is why she looks so different during the naughty cut scenes.)

I'm still depressed over the fact that Jowan has 2 more spells than my mage PC in the beginning of origins.

I doubt. In the trailer she mentions whe is fighting for her family while morrigan had you kill hers. I think the only similarities are that they are apostates and the hairstyles.
Either way, you wouldn't want to stay being known you'd eventually be possesed?

And to be honest I'm glad there are no romance-plots, so I can look forward with my warden to meet Morrigan in Dragon Age 2 and don't have to deal with DA:A love inerests lol

Not everyone has a hinted at continued romance option. Not everyone wanted to be Alistair's mistress, and the poor Orlesian Wardens will be lonely. XD
Regardless, I'm not sure if I want Velanna in my party. But that'll be judged once I see more of her personality.

Wynne was pretty for an old lady, she aged well. Flemeth was just plain ugly.

Although I agree with you in most respects (switch Morrigan with Leliana for me), I have to say that a romance option would be amazing for the sole purpose of watching the two of them fight over me. Nothing is more awesome that watching a crazy elf druid and a french redheaded assassin duke it out, risking life and limb for my love.therewasatime wrote...
When I first saw a screenshot of her and read she's gonna a companion I also thought she was intended to be Morrigan2.0. But after thinking a little bit about it and the fact that there is no romancing in DA:A I changed my mind

Or is that just me?

But in all seriousness, I expect Velanna to fill the roll of the healer/caster in the party with maybe a slightly more offensive leaning than Wynn with some type of Druid/keeper nature magic based specialization. I imagine she will come pre-speced with the healing line and Anders will fill the DPS mage role. Other than the hairstyle I don't see a lot of similarity between her and Morrigan.

This elf apparently has a raging hatred for Humans cause they killed her family or whatever, and are doing bad things to there forest. So she just wants to kill them all with her tree army.
Morrigan believed in "power" in oneself, but I dont re-call her caring about her mother to much, or having a hatred for other races. She was just a witty witch.
Both different.
