Here's an idea for DLC, only available post-completion of the game. It's only an idea, take it or leave it... if you can use any of these ideas, great. I believe this would add considerable longevity to the game once you've defeated the Collectors and only want to push forward with your Shep instead of doing it all over again via NG+. I think this would sit nicely alongside whatever mission-related DLC they have plans for.

After the credits roll, if you choose to continue with your game, you get a letter from Illusive Man. The tone of this letter may vary based on your decisions during your mission (might be interesting to see a recap). The one I have below is only a stripped down strawman example without any of the decisions your game might have tracked.

Shepard, if I haven't said so already, congratulations. The Collectors have been defeated, for now. We need to look forward, and stay sharp. It is imperative that the team maintain their maximum capabilities within each of their skill sets, especially yours. You're not off the clock yet.

That is why I'm sending you coordinates to our main forward operations facility, called ________, located in the ______ cluster/nebula/system/whatever. You may have been through here before without detecting the facility, but without the proper protocols, you were blind to it. I'm sending you these protocols now, so CFOF _________ will be visible to you the next time you call up your astrogation map.

I personally welcome you to visit ________ and expect you to take full advantage of what it has to offer. Below is a brief list of items that I am sure you and your crew could make useful.
[list][*]Shipyard - Shepard I am quite sure that the Normandy 2 did not come back through the Omega 4 Relay unscathed. Bring her in and we'll clean her up and get her working back to 100%. You'll have the option of a re-paint, as well as a personalized designation of your choosing that will be etched into the ship's hull. She's your ship now, you've earned her to say the least.[*]Self explanatory, you get to choose colors for your ship and get a name printed on the side somewhere that personalizes the Normandy 2. Cerberus decals remain, obviously.
[*]Crew (only if you lost the crew) - The loss of your crew is something I feel deeply about, and I am sure their absence is taking a toll on you and your team. If you bring the Normandy 2 into ________ we'll re-outfit her with a replacement crew. Unfortunately, but expectedly, they will not be the same people as the ones you grew close with before they were captured. But we need to fill in the seats and empty spaces. The Normandy 2 is not a ghost ship, and I'm sure EDI would agree.
[*]I just recently beat the game but lost the crew. Now I'm doing side missions and anomolies. The silence and lack of people on the ship is killing me. It's now a ghost ship. My idea is this: get warm bodies back in the ship, but let the game choose the models randomly from a selection of human-based templates. Nobody will speak or interact with you, so no additional audio work is necessary. For example Kelly Chambers' role might be a male this time, and he'll be at his station, but you won't hear him say anything. He's just there, doing his job. The crew knows they're replacements. This is to reflect the need to have people in the ship again, while also reinforcing the loss of your original crew.
[*]Wall of Honor - To honor those among your team who fell during the fight with the Collectors, I would like to install a memorial within the Normandy 2 dedicated to those people. We never want to forget their contribution to our success, and their personal sacrifice.
[*]This is a wall that would feature either paintings or holograms of pictures of those squadmates who died... maybe in the briefing room? I just lost 4 squaddies in my recent completion including one that I was super buddies with... it's tragic!
[*]Trade - Shepard, the Cerberus organization is very large, and very busy, and we can use all of the resources we can get. If during your travels you happen to collect an abundance of minerals, bring them into _________ and trade them for credits. We're happy to pay for them.
[*]I've seen this mentioned in other threads... seems like a good idea to me. Why not? Go farming for minerals and get paid for the excess.
[*]Gambling - So if you're mining the galaxy for minerals and Cerberus is paying you for these minerals, and you've maxed out your weapons and your armor, what do you do with the money coming in? The Forward Operations Facility maintains a high-security gambling deck, and your winnings go into an emergency trust that we hold within our own secure accounts. You will be unable to access your account unless we release it to you, and this would only happen in case of emergency and you need the resources quickly.
[*]Just what it says... you mine for minerals, trade the minerals for money (cash) here, and then you spend that cash on gambling. Your winnings go into a bonus that you'll see in ME3, when Cerebus lifts the lock on your account.
[*]Games - Shepard, in an effort for you and your crew to maintain optimum awareness (and morale), we're offering to install an add-on within the Normandy 2 that will provide challenging exercises for each of you and allow you to compete with each other. This isn't "tic tac toe", Shepard, these games are facilitators that will keep you honed for quick thinking and battle-minded tactics. I encourage the entire team to be as ruthless as possible with each other (while maintaining professional conduct outside of the exercises.)
[*]Basically I see a kiosk or something inside the Normandy that when you
walked up to it, you get to play some light-minded but addictive games... think Popcap stuff... maybe some Defense Tower, puzzlers, Asteroids, Tetris, whatever. Have a leaderboard that lists your allies and their
scores as well as your own... maybe each time you play the leaderboard randomly changes so you're constantly competing. Maybe Tali is always at the top of the charts and nobody can beat her (unless you've romanced her, then she's always under you by one single point... she's just toying with you). Just a few simple, low-bandwidth games to occupy some time and
take the edge off.[/i]
[*]Finally, Shepard it's important that you and your team be enabled to continue your training within the facility's combat simulators. There are a number of scenarios for you to choose from, based on data we've acquired from your missions as well as many other sources that we've collected over the years, that would provide your team with what we call "near live" combat experiences. "Near live" means that although these training exercises are non-lethal, they hurt, and you can be knocked out when you'd otherwise be dead in a "real live" situation. Feel free to utilize these training simulators as often as you like. The facility tracks your kills, your weapon and power usage (biotic and tech), and provides you with important combat statistics so that you are fully aware of your capabilities and limitations.
[*]So you come to this facility and use the combat sim. It's like Pinnacle Station 2.0 I guess. ME2 has such a fun combat system, why not extrapolate on it? I'd like the game to track details from the combat situations, like how much time it took me to kill the enemies or accomplish the goal, how many times I used Overload versus Warp, and how many thermal clips did I burn through. Maybe there's a Horde Mode, maybe a CTF, and so forth. How many kills did you have versus your other 2 squadmates? Let the game show these statistics somewhere in the Normandy, maybe. I think this would actually be the real "meat" of the DLC, and would require most of the hard work in development. But I'm thinking, once it's done, it's done. If we had something like this after defeating the collectors, it would give us something to do between mission-related DLC and completing side-quests, anomolies, and planet mining.

I can think of other things I'd like to see in the Normandy (Shep and Jacob agree on the lounge), if it's feasible to create more content like this stuff, Maybe this facility would be the platform through which you gain this kind of future content within the game... kinda like how they push things through Cerberus Network. However, again, you only gain access to the facility after game completion. It's like a huge reward waiting for you after the long hours you put into beating ME2.

If they priced this competitively I'd buy it.

Ok, that's my little idea for a DLC. :B
