Is this possible?  Is it possible only on a PC?  Or is there a very specific syntax you need to setup to do this.  I just got Leil to master stealing and didn't see an option to use this.

I'm curious too.... while I gave Leilana max ability in pickpocket, I never used it.

Did you check the Advanced Tactics mod? I am not sure but it might be covered there.

Well, I have the PS3 version, hence the question. If it requires the PC version, it does me little good. If the Advanced Tactics piece is available on PS3, just point the way...

It's possible with stock tactics.  It's listed as any other ability.  Just set it up for highest rank enemy or whatever and set ability to use "stealing".

Yeah. I didn't try highest rank, I tried Enemy: Any, and it is not listed in the abilites.

Sometimes it's a little buggy.  Do it in reverse, set the ability first then setup the condition.

So? What good does it do to 'steal' while in the middle of combat??? Nabbing an extra potion wont really effect the outcome of the battle? Do enemies actually use potions?

I suppose you could steal their weapon.... that would certainly ruin their day....

Higher level enemies usually have better gear you get or just straight cash.  Anything additional gives you something to sell for more gold or use instead of making or buying.

As an auto tactic you never have to worry about it and it will give you bonus items from most battles.  I guess it can't hurt so why not do it.

The item you steal is on top  of their usual loot, it's for monetary gain rather than for any combat mechanic.

I will check this out tonight.

Sorry, on PS3 atleast, you can't set the ability before the condition. Either way, I still can not set stealing as a tactic.

so how are you supposed to be able to steal in combat? i have the first two ranks in stealing and when i try to steal in combat it says "cannot do that in combat" of course im just hitting the steal key and targeting something.

I fiddled with this for ages on the 360 and I can't find any way to do it. Best I can suggest is assigning it to a hot key and doing it yourself.

Yeah. I don't think it's possible to do it on consoles. I've never seen the option on the 360 version.

Yeah well that really sux. I planned my party as Sten for tank, Morrigan for AoE and Healing, then Leil for ranged badarseiery and automated combat stealing.

Oh well, hopefully it's available in Awakening.
