Wish the level cap increased to level 40. Insanity on NG+ is the same as your first insanity playthrough after halfway through. :S

I actually think NG+ is balanced pretty well. Sure, you're stuck with whatever weapon you chose on the collector ship on your previous run but you get to keep all you weapons and armor and its appearance plus a crapload of resources so you don't have to do quite so much planet scanning. As for the early inbalance, surely that's a good thing? None of us play on insanity because we like things easy, afterall.

2. Resource and credit bonus less than import (ME1 importing again is better)

May I ask what you're smoking? Completing the storyline gets you +50,000 of each element at the start of the game. Importing only gets you +5,000. As far as I'm aware, this applies to any games you start after having beaten the story. So Importing a Level 30 Shepard to Insanity+ should give you that bonus, just like if you were to start a new game from scratch.

No, it isn't!

If you start a new game with your lvl 60 ME1 char after you have beaten ME2 once you get: 350k credits, 60k of each resource and some Paragon/Renegade points

If you start an new game with your lvl 30 ME2 char, which was based on your ME1 char you get: 200k credits, 50k of each resource and no Paragon/Renegade points at all

To me, Insanity+ is about the challenge, and about testing your build when you're fighting an up-hill battle. It's somewhat disappointing that the difficulty spike only lasts until Horizon; on the other hand, there's only so long that someone can take such odds, so the fact that it evens out after Horizon also makes a lot of sense.

What's this area of the thread?

This is the area of the thread where the AI corrects the previous statements of another while avoiding future ad hominem attacks. Despite the import bonus received from integrating a past ME2 playthrough, many are unaware that both import bonuses -- from ME1 and ME2 -- are not mutually exclusive. The choices and consequences of your ME1 playthrough continue to appear in a New Game Plus; however, your credit bonuses from ME1 are not taken into account.

The primary motivation of playing Insanity Plus is highly suspect if it is intentionally designed to become less and less difficult over time. The absence of level progression is the root cause of this defect.

You just got to be more careful and look at your health bar more. Take note when to keep your head down.

Seriously?! I missed out on 55k resources for not taking the time to run my Level 59 character on another run-through before importing?!

I didn't get the experience I needed to get my ME1 character to Level 60, and I didn't feel like doing an entire run-through, so I imported at Level 59. I got a grand total of 5k of each resource, and I don't even remember what sort of starting credits I had.

What? You still don't get the point. If you finished ME2 once, you get 50k of each resource for any further run. Plus 10k if you start with a ME1 char, which you don't get, if you start again with your ME2 char, even though it was based in your ME1 char.

Oh. Makes sense. It's annoying, but it makes sense. Thanks for the correction.

Insanity+ may or may not have been tacked on at the last minute; I don't know. What I do know is that I think it came out really well.

If it were deliberately about the increased challenge, the difficulty would be consistent throught the game...it wouldnt see-saw back to normal a third of the way through the game.

I think such  a mode that was *actually* designed for that would have value.  This isnt that.  Its just sort of silly.

I love that the enemies are stronger.  My 1st 2 playthrouhgs were a walk in the park.  On insanity, I finally feel challenged.  I say bring it on.

Yea, I did a New Game+ with my Level 30 Infiltrator on Insanity. I found Horizon's ending and the Collector Ship Ambush to be the most difficult of all. Once I got passed them, it was smooth sailing. The IFF and Collector Base, simple.

The main difference between using a level 30 or level 1 character for Insanity is that the enemy is scaled up on your level. No matter what though, you have no upgrades and they do. So, it becomes on what you want the enemy level to be and what powers you want available.

Gibbed's save editor. I have 9,999,999 credits and 9,999,999 of each resource. No more planet-scanning or money-scrounging for me.

PCs. :)

I'm a vanguard and the collector ship mission is BY FAR the nastiest. Horizon just took some brain power no chance at using raw force as a weakling. But here I'm just getting totaled. Absolutely destroyed. My partners are impervious to following direction and waste their lives hastily. While tose scion bastards pump shockwaves at me. They keep me on the move as a Harbinger is always always closing in. Complete destruction

I enjoyed NG+, but I hate the fact that your Paragon/Renegade points do not carry over, that really sucks.

This, plus if I feel the need to change class/selected weapon/ ME1 choices the save editor does this too. pc ftw

I'm playing Insanity as a level 30 Engineer and I'm stuck at the last battle on Horizon. I can't get past the very first two scions. It's not the scions themselves that give me trouble, it's what seems to be the endless stream of Husks that are ALWAYS attacking that prevent me from doing anything.

Wait...Gibbed's save editor lets you change your class.  Now that I did not know,.  I did not bother with it since what I read about it said it was not really ready for prime time.  Being able to change class...now it has my interest.

Pulling it down when I get home.

I use the saved game editor to max out resources for myself because I can't be bothered to scan, haha. I just act as though I've already done it. I don't edit credits though, those are added in intentional increments for game balance.

AFAIK, importing a Rich level 60 ME1 character will give you an extra 150,000 creds and 10,000 of each resource. The Long Service achievement gives new ME2 chars (imported or not) 200,000 credits and 50,000 of each resource.

Importing a Mass Effect 1 character is always superior to starting new. The resources aren't that big of a deal, but the extra credits mean you can pretty much buy everything in the game and have plenty of creds to spare at the end of the game. I think I had almost 200,000 credits extra at the end of one of my imported ME1 characters who did every mission and bought every single item.

Also, only imported ME1 characters who have completed The Fan will be able to get the discount at the weapons shop in Illium. Kind of strange that the discount is only offered if you can complete the Conrad Verner quest, but hey, that's they way it is.

I have found in my 5 playthroughs, even despite long service medal and ME 1 level 60/rich import, that I generally have barely enough money to actually buy every upgrade. I don't even buy the bypass/hack modules or any of the fish or models and I still barely scrape by, despite talking to everyone at the hubs and scanning every planet for anomalies.
