ok ppl, heres the skinny. im gettin the same general protection fault error as everyone else, but as far as ive seen no presentable solution has been offered.

i know n general wut my problem is because the game worked on my nvidia 7600, but not on my 8800 gt...so it leads me to believe there r compatability problems with my card, right? anyways, i hav downloaded the latest drivers for my card and hav spent way too much time n the .cfg files lookin for some clue as to the source of our problem.

long story short, just wonderin if anyone has heard of any kind of special fixes to this glitch with the 8800 n particular, though im not very hopeful. if not, wont someone join me in the quest to find the root of this problem, cuz quite frankly...ive become obsessed and exhausted

-The issue where PCs with NVIDIA GeForce 8xxx and above video cards were experiencing random General Protection Fault crashes appears to have been fixed with the GeForce 182.06+ drivers

Please ensure when playing Mass Effect that all PC drivers are up to date

From the Mass Effect 1.02 Patchnotes textfile.

I am still using 184 and 185 Geforce drivers on the two PCs with nVIDIA hardware, because everything else conflicts with Dragon Age, so I would still suspect drivers with an 8800 and Mass Effect (although I admit to having used only Radeons when running my playability tests of ME-1). .
