I also am using a mod this playthrough that automatically adds dog to my summoned ally slot just so I can bring him along at all times.
Who's a good puppy that bites the nuts off darkspawn. Thats right, you are!

Since currently justifying once actions seems to be all the rage on this forum
Just so the poor little puppy doesn't feel left out.
Remember, he is not mangy.

I regretted using him so little after Lothering in my first playthrough, and I considered the Dog mod indispensable afterwards.
The truth is, he's the only "warrior" that's really interesting besides Shale, in terms of being "different". The flip side of him having so few talents is his AI really works, even if he only gets 5 tactics slots....
Faithful McGruff, you may not be in the expansion, but darn it, we will be reunited soon.

How will I manage without 105 pounds (app. 48 kilos) of lovable Mabari by my side? He's the only one who truly understands me and loves me for who I am. *sob* He's....he's....he's my best friend! *wailing*

Just an FYI....theres a mod that greatly decreases his barking out there if you play on the PC, I think I picked it up on DragonAgeNexus.

I hardly notice the barking, which...probably says something about my dog. Er, my real life dog, that is.
I'll look for the mod that allows you to add Dog at all times. Do the party members know he's there and have their banter with him?

the mod description for extra dog slot says it does and it is a good mod (just remove the dog from your party when ever you get seperated from it like the prison break and the fade sequences or you will lose the dog)
my one problem other than the glitch above is that its messes up advanced tactics and messes it up badly

I don't use advanced tactics, so it sounds like I should give it a go. Thanks for the heads up though. I'm planning to give Advanced Tactics a try, so it's good to know that I can't use both.

Well done, indeed.
Well, on the plus side, he never disapproves of my PCs actions.
He can melt even Nan to a certain point
My PC mom likes him
He's incredibly loyal, and won't turn on my PC
On the negative side:
He is a snoop. And a thief. He's some kind of sneaky ...dog-thief.
Ah..., well, that's about it. His barking never bothers me. The pig-bunny noises do. Oghren keeps asking my PC if he could make a roast, but my PC can't bring it over her heart to make Leliana cry.

I actullay think dog has more personlity than Orghen
Which is a lot, seeing as those of us in favour of Oghren believe he has more personality than a lot of the more readily accepted companions

ROFL. One of the funniest posts I've read on this forum. Well done.Charsen wrote...
I dunno. I was talking to Dog and Wynne and I bathed him, and then he was all like... Bark... We need to talk about us.
I was like.. Dog. There is no "us"... not anymore. Not after you brought me that soggy cake. Why can't you let me be free?
So Dog left me, and I probably deserved it. I was a coward.
