Missing crew conversations due to loyalty missions?

Do I ever run a risk of missing a conversation with a crew member because of when I recruit him/her?

For example, say that I recruit everyone but Thane, then do all their loyalty missions. Then I finally go recruit Thane. Will I have time to get through all his pre-loyalty mission dialogue before he asks me to help with his son, or will he ask almost immediately and never give me the chance because I recruited him too late? Or will all the conversations I never had just come up after all the loyalty mission stuff is over?

I'm mostly concerned about Samara, because I only had the chance to talk with her right after I recruited her before she gave me her loyalty mission. Does she only have the one conversation or am I going to miss out? If someone knows how this works I'd appreciate it.

You can do N7 missions and characters should have new dialogue. But if you've done all those missions as well, then you might miss out. You get Legion so late that either you have to sacrifice your crew or save missions for after the endgame to hear all his dialogue.

No need to bump this, mjkjets told you and he's right

I didn't do all of Legion's dialogue 'cos I did everything before I got him

I think what the OP is asking is actually whether any dialogue is exclusive to before the loyalty mission. Such that if the game forces the loyalty mission dialogue to come very soon after recruitment, it may prevent some other dialogue that isn't required before the mission, but also cannot come up after the mission.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer.

If you don't talk to your crew before their loyalty mission, I'm fairly sure you miss out on stuff. Not the generic, left side of the wheel stuff, but the getting to know you stuff.

But I've played this game so many times now, its all just blurry. :P

Nope, you're not going to miss out. The conversation continues, and continues further post-loyalty. Pre-loyalty, they're all either meditating, too busy, or *sigh* calibrating those bloody cannons...

Yes, this bothered me, especially when it came to Legion. I think I only got two conversations out of him. Always wondered if there were more.

I'm not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure the loyalty mission dialogues will push back the previous dialogue until after it's done, and you'll pickup "where you left off" after you've completed the loyalty mission and spoken to them about it. At least I'm pretty sure that's what I've done with Grunt and Mordin.

This.
You can't miss conversations unless you run out of missions to do, be it N7, recruitement, or loyalty. Some convos can take place before the loyalty mission, but doing the loyalty mission before listening to them just "postpones" them.

Much thanks for clearing this up. This is what I'd hoped was the case. It seemed to make the most sense as well, I'm just slightly paranoid.

You actually can miss some convos because of loyalty missions, for example today I recruited thane right before the collector ship mission and it skipped the convo about his disease and went right to his asking me to help his son. Instead of an in depth convo about Kepral Syndrome he just says. "I told you before I was sick, I have Kepral Syndrome. I need you to help my son."

kinda annoying since he's my romance, so I had to reload it and talk to him immediately after his mission.

...Damn. Now I don't know again.

I missed like half of my teams convos.. And i'm at the end of the game my first play through, so I am really curious on what to do to get all the convos going. Or what I did wrong.

Jacob, Jack, Grunt all seem to be complete. They don't tell me to get lost. They seem happy and accomplished.

Miranda, Tali, Garius, Legion, Thane, The Justicar. (can't remember her name), Mordin, all keep telling me to come back. And I like bloody talk to them every chance I got. What did I do wrong?

I keep losing Legion's loyalty convos because I forget to save N7 missions to talk to him.

My main sadface is: I hope this doesn't affect any ME3 decisions!

I'm not sure about the other characters but for Garrus you get the conversation right after you recruit him, the conversation where he will tell you about his loyalty mission, and the conversation after his loyalty mission. That's it if you're not romancing him. If you are then you get two extra conversations with the last one replacing his "can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations" line.

And for Tali her last conversation for me as femshep was when she talked about linking suits.

Then maybe it's the misleading responses. But i am pretty sure I didn't get through everything with Thane. Since I'm pretty sure he is one of the love interests and I didn't get that far. Grunt, Jacob and jack all have great final responses that let you know they are done, the rest, they leave you thinking there is more.

Taking the elevator up and back down should unlock more dialogue. It worked with Kelly. I think the game knows theres no more missions and makes an exception.

Post loyalty mission Garrus is still calibrating cannons :D

Hard to say, but in my opinion it is possible miss dialogs if something is done different order. How ever, I'm not sure if there is perfect order at all.

after many playthrought i am pretty sure conversation are always the same no matter how you do it ! just do a mission and go back to the character you want to talk , if its a new line that mean you arent finish if its the same line has the last 1 then its finish ! the only thing that change conversation is LI and the confrontation ! if you have not enough para/renegade point to disarm the situation betwen miranda and jack for exemple then the character you pick the side still talk to you but not the other .

other than that the only thing you need is a mission to make thing go further

You sure that works? I need to talk to Legion some more but "they" are having a consensus...
