Umm, you haven't spent a lot of time together, but she merged her mind with yours, you saved her from a life of thralldom, and made it possible for her to renew her purpose and spend her time helping the Feros colony. That makes you at least good acquaintances, doesn't it? Especially considering that her green-ness is likely related to the Thorian, I'd say you've earned the right to ask her about it.Amethyst Deceiver wrote...
you would never say that to someone face to face unless you really knew that person for a while, or if something is wrong with you.Internet Kraken wrote...

Shiala why are you green?
That seems like a perfectly legitiment question to ask.
That was actually the first thing I wanted to ask.
Shepard is nosy!

So no wonder that during another meeting seeing her green Shepard have full right to ask her if everything is OK whit her.
I hope that we will have chance to (maybe as DLC or in expansion) return on Feros or maybe help Shiala to find the cure.

Please shut up. You are trying so hard to look so intelligent and sophisticated. No one cares, people are how they are and your annoying whining online won't change anything.

"Well, fortunate for you that I am not the renegade playthrough ..."
And yeah, ... Shepards actual question sometimes feel less accurate or good as the short version displayed on the choosing wheel.
But let's just remember that Shepard had only little to medium education according to his personel data.

I hate when people think "human decency" is some canard called "political correctness." It must be such a burden to be expected to treat other people with respect.
I disagree with Amethyst Deceiver in this one instance, given all the context, but I think that AD is broadly correct about the appropriateness of asking invasive, prying questions.

translation for the slow (since its funnier if you actually get it):
funny how in a discussion about "politeness" i decide to throw out a bone deliberately charged with very "unpolite" wording, and you people fall for it just as brainlessly and emotionally charged without any sense of logic or understanding of the broader topic. thank you. this made my day. LOL

I don't disagree with treating people with respect however given the context of this discussion as you said yourself it is not rude to ask Shiala why she is green.

But on the other hand when I first saw her my first two thoughts in order were "Wasn't she purple before?" and then "Why is she green" but considering Shepard saved her life and they mind blended I don't see the problem with it.
Especially since she basically invites you to hook up with her after your done saving the galaxy...again. As to the other nosy aspects of Shepard's personality he does butt into those two Krogan's conversation about the fish in the Presidium lake after overhearing it, that's a bit nosy I think

But I also think that calling other people 'f****** dense' is rude and a juvenile way to approach a clearly logical argument.

strange how certain ways of wording can cause different reactions... hmm
and on that note, its not like "hey why are you green" and "are you ok? is there something wrong?" would totally mean different things or anything.

He doesn't even phrase it like that. He even starts off with something like 'Wait a minute..." and then explains that he remembers just being the evil clones that were green. It's a perfectly reasonable line of dialogue.

i was hoping i wouldnt actually have to explain elementary school level social politeness over the internet but i guess it couldnt be avoided.
at first i thought this was a joke, but i actually think some of you guys are serious
do you guys really not understand the difference between "are you ok?" and "why are you green?"
im sorry if im the only one here that did not grow up in an isolated bubble and was forced to converse with other actual human beings for a major portion of my life.
are you ffing serious?
thats total bull!
fake polite crap doesnt help ****, beeing upfront does.
and lets check how well we know her.
you fight her clones on feros, shes an asari commando of benezia, asari are supposed to be blue!
yes LETS be polite? wtf?
so it ddint mean you were friends or aqeutensise, you barely know her, you saved her life while saving the galaxy.
if you see a human with a green color id also go like what happend? your green! how is that even posisble???
or youd even ask are you ok? its so ffing obvious somethign is wrong.
saying its a anti social behaviour to ask such things is total crap, where did you grew up?
some high posh gated community?
people are difrent they all work difrent, some who you dont know would want it straight up, some close friends you need to stay polite cause they cant handle it when your straight too the point.
and then having a demeaner post about others....wow....talking about beeign a social politeness
