Well, they could've added some hidden doors in a couple of places that require you to walk right into them to open, similar to the door to your private bathroom. But then, what's the point? Within 3 days of release, EVERY SINGLE ONE would be posted on the internet, 2 days later they would all be listed on a single page on the Wikia, and another week later they'd be mentioned in every single guide as well.

I do hope they're adding something "special" sometime, but I'm more hoping for something along the likes of starsystems that are only accessible on certain dates, or planets that can only be landed on at specific days of the week. Maybe they could get a little mention in the Cerberus News page when they're about to go up, like when that meteorite passed the Hanar homeworld would've been an interesting day to temporarily unlock a rescue mission there.
Ages ago I had a game called Dungeon Keeper or something like that, which had special levels that only unlocked at specific times and dates, like during a full moon, on friday 13th, midnight on your local system, etc.
Such temporary and undocumented missions are much more interresting, since it generally takes way longer for guides etc. to come up for them, sumply because people aren't even aware they exist.

edit: spelling

I'm not talkin about easter eggs here.  I'm talking about hidden star clusters, moons behind large planets, hidden items in crates, secret rooms or hidden pasages to "secret" areas.

Why is ME2 void of anything remotely resembling exploration and discovery?  Do the developers think the average gamer is too stupid to find hidden content?  Did someone at Bioware discover some market research that suggests all gamers hate finding secret stuff and must be handed every ounce of content on a silver rimmed platter garnished with "Yes we think yer stupid"-sauce?

RPGs typically offer something to explore, somthing to discover, and the option to choose your own path through the main story elements.   ME2 denies the player all of these things and no reason for this has ever been disclosed by any of the developers.

This seems like something that should have been explained in some manner.

Actually you can miss pretty much all ugrades found on missions and almost half the weapons in the game if you dont activly look for them during missions.
Most main missions have areas that are easy to miss, unless you search truoght the whole map and those usually contain money, medicell, ammo, recources, ugrades or one of the few weapons to be found by those who make sure to explore everywhere.

Hidden from who?  Preteens with ADD?  You even get a shine through wall effect if you mouse over something you can interact with in another room...  Maybe our definitions of hidden are different?

Okay Zenn, we get the point, you hate ME2 because it isn't RPG enough for you. And just because you asked for it earlier...

Final Fantasy 13.

Most linear RPG you will ever ****ing find. Now calm the hell down and do not call me a troll.

Everyone wants your picking at this game to stop, if you hate BW, LEAVE, if you hate the game so much, LEAVE. If you hate the people on this forum so much, Just. Leave.

Simple right? Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

No, I get exactly what you mean. It's just that those hidden places tend to become common knowledge pretty fast most of the time, basically negating the entire idea of them being hidden. So that's why I'd prefer timed openings: one playthrough I might get to visit special area A, B and C, while the next B might be available, while A and C are not, but I might be able to catch special area Z while I'm playing that character. It just gives more of an exploration feel, running into things that you couldn't even know to be there even on your third or fourth playthrough, simply because they actually were not there either,

Yeah that is the common excuse used be lazy devs too.  "But people will figure it out and share anyway so why bother".  Really though, unless players go out of their way to "find" that common knowledge, it doesn't matter.  The experience is still availible as intended to the vast majority of players.

Every RPG should have secrets and an abundance of them.  Whether it's a special time you visit a certain area or access a certain feature, or it's something simple like a box you can push over that reveals a hidden passage.  RPGs without them suffer on a fundamental level.
