At this point, shouting "Troll!" is practically a spinal reflex for Zenn, I think.
What would you call it if someone posts in a thread with absolutely no interest in the topic specifically to call someone an a-hole or insight an arguement?
Maybe I see something walking like a duck and quacking like a duck and assume that it's probably a duck?

I don't see how that is saying anything bad about the game tho.

I wouldn't call it hate. It just doesn't seem like this is something they could have overlooked. There must be some sort of reason behind removing such a powerful element from the experience.

Troll (n) - Somebody who has realized that every single one of your posts could be adequately summarized as "You are absolutely wrong, and I am absolutely right, and no argument you make will ever change that" and refuses to bother arguing with you anymore.

I never jump all over anyone for having an idea. It's the whole trying to replace other people's ideas with their own thing that's annoying. trying to bully someone into replacing their opinion with your own is hardcore trolling. And as such should be discouraged. It doesn't matter if I politely tell you "Yer wrong and I'm right", it's still offensive trolling behavior and shouldn't be tolerated.

I've never played an RPG before that didn't have a secret passage or hidden room. Ever.
Did you play the first ME? I don't recall there being any secret passages or hidden rooms in that one.

But there were hidden planets and ateroids and the levels weren't linear so simply putting a room past the objective of the level could be considered "hidden". The idea behind hidden content in a game is that even with effort things can be overlooked. In ME2 everything is mapped out for you and there is nothing hidden, no exploration, and every level is completely linear. The closest thing to hidden content in ME2 missions is the option to stay in the final room and hack a wall safe.

Can i ask a serious question?
If you have so much negative stuff to say about the game, and you know people are going to attack you for it (i mean this is an internet forum for god's sake), why do it? just asking

Look back sleep. You'll notice what I'm talking about right away just by looking at the context rather than jumping to conclusions. It's "Hidden" in all the silly attempts to troll me that resulted lulz and tantrums.

The asteriods and such shined briefly, giving away their locations...but that's neither here nor there. I do agree with you that more secrets would be nice, and I'd be all for it in ME3, but since the first installment didn't have much, I guess I wasn't really expecting it for part two.

There is always someone looking to attack other people just for the sake of attacking them. And it's much more fun to turn their stupidity into Lulz for everyone.

Certainly not, but I don't care either way.
To be fair and more concise, it's not that they think the average gamer is stupid, they think (and are basically right) the average gamer just doesn't care. They knew this game would be spooged over regardless of whether or not the levels were extended with extra paths or hidden gems so why spend the resources doing it.
Hopefully they'll see that many people do like these things and that maybe it will increase their profits from ME3 if they make the effort to expand on the exploration front.

Nor have I suggested they were. But it only takes pointing out one troll to make the others appear to defend them. So it's easy to get confused about intentions. Like when I lured Bobby out the first time and 3 other trolls jumped to the rescue. It's flocking behavior. It helps identify who the trolls are. It's much easier to have a conversation when you know who is just there being a douche for douchebaggery's sake.

See that was pretty far from what I guessed your first post meant
I do think the average gamer does care a bit more than you might think about exploration elements in their games though. I just believe that they don't recognize it and turn their focus to other concepts they can readily identify with. All those saying about "knowing yourself" aren't just old delusional men ranting. It's a difficult for people to look in and try to understand. Much easier to just assign blame to whichever scapegoat happens to be in front of them.

Both love (3 times through) and hate this dammmmed game for largely the same reasons. I'm an Old and have played computer games since forever and have seen their (d)evolution.
Seems to me his comment points out a legitimate plaint 'bout ME2 and ME1 and really all recent Bioware (et al) games resulting from the total kowtowing to consoles. DAO and ME both exhibit the kind of controls and story structure that are dominated by such and ignore the (probably no longer) larger and older PC base.
Indeed: Why no hidden areas/items and real discovery and exploration in the game? Even for a TPS or FPS it's pretty linear and the "hidden" areas all have a "THIS WAY!" sign or setup as big as all outdoors.
By the way, I don't find the ME2 mineral collection any more tolerable than that of ME1 but at least it has a (lame) point. I actually miss the rolling around in the Mako because it felt like I actually visited another world and actually explored something. There could be found things that WERE NOT on the initial map when you landed, too. Totally gone.
There is depth to ME2 but it still sometimes feels shallow...
