Nightmare is next, but here are just a couple quick things things I noticed about the DAO gameplay that I hope the devs fix in upcoming expansions, patches, or sequels.  There's more but these were the two things that really jumped out at me.  As I remember more, I'll post them here.

Knockback effects.  It's really annoying that after you or any of your teammates are knocked back, they don't continue to attack the target.   You have to physically take control of them and tell them to attack, of if you're in control of your own character, have to start manually attacking again.  I'm sure this is intended, but it's really annoying

CC.  This has been an ongoing gripe of mine and many others so I won't go into it again here.  But I find it really peculiar that the devs felt the need to nerf player CC on mobs, but not mob CC on the players.  It's almost as if the devs failed to realize that the reason players were spamming their own CC was because we felt it was the only effective counter to the loads of mob CC on us.  Hope they don't put as much emphasis on CC in future content.

Anyway, on to nightmare.  And I'm sure it'll be just that.

This is probably going to be really obvious to me after you answer but... what's CC? =/

Crowd control.  Which is defined as any spell, ability or skill that causes loss of control of your character.  In DAO there is a TON of it.

Hmm...stuns, paralyze, freezing, knockdowns (I hate when those mabari try to eat my face), webs(Spiders...worse then Mabari they web ya and as soon as thats over THEN they try to eat your face), traps....my warrior hates those Leg traps and grease traps(Think all my characters would have broken tailbones......and thats all just off the top of my head

Yeah the legtraps last way too long and those spiders are really annoying when they spam you with those webs so by the time they stop webbing you the fight is over and archers do the same when they spam Scattershot. And don't get me started on those Ogres and their zero cooldown charges(single unfairest talent in the whole game).

I really don't mind crowd control except when they spam the crap out of it so you have no choice to stand still for the whole battle. When I play a game I want to actually play it, not watch as my companions get to play while I'm waiting for the stun to wear off.

I can change to control someone else but when I play I like to use the companions to supplement my MC which doen't work out well when my charecter spends the whole battle stunned.

I don't think of it as a massive problem, in fact I like CC, but when it gets spammed it becomes really annoying.

Well, that's exactly the problem.  CC itself is not a bad thing.  It adds a challenge to the game and is necessary for our own team to make it through some fight.  So, the problem isn't that there is a lot of CC, the problem is that it's spammed.  Mob CC has zero cooldowns.   So, as you said ogres can just use their charge ability nonstop.  Archers spam scattershot.  Emissarys use crushing prison and paralyze all the time, and all the melee mobs have a variety of stuns and knockbacks.

Again, this wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't spammed and there wasn't an overabundance of it.  Like you said (which many others have also said) I actually like to play the game as my character.  It's really annoying to be CC'd the entire fight, which happens frequently in DAO.  I'm just hoping the devs take a look at this in the upcoming expansion for all other future content, including sequels.

I think they should just add diminishing returns, a la WoW. I'm sure a lot of people will hate me for suggesting anything WoW-related, but it's a good way to keep CC from getting out of control.

For those who don't know, the way diminishing returns work is every time a crowd control effect is applied within a certain time frame, it lasts less time than before. So, if you cast cone of cold back to back with two mages, it might only last 6 seconds on the second cast, then 3 seconds, then 0 seconds. The details could be tweaked, of course.

The benefit is players don't have to deal with the frustrating of getting stunned time and time again by chain scatter-shots, and bringing three mages to the group becomes a little weaker. I'm sure some people would say that's not a benefit.

Stun effects already behave like this, within a certain time interval.

Oh, yeah, this is too true. It's really frustrating. I had two mages in my group for a while (myself and Morrigan) spec'd to do CC, but it seemed less effective than just fireballing and hiding behind meat shields. Which is a pity since I thought the CC effects were more in-character and fun.
