I've just started out and and still trying to figure out how I want to play my character.  I've got a Dwarven Noble and was intending to play him as a "fully good" character.  Maybe even something like "You'll do what is right even if it kills you"

The problem is it seems like a lot of social intereactions only work out of you have a high persuade skill, which is getting annoying.  I was thinking about going with intimidate, due to my high strength, but it seems like you end up just being a bully.

For example, when I got to that first village and tried to help out with the greedy merchant (profiteer) conflict, it seemed like my only options were Persuade, Kill and Ignore.

So I'm a tad vexed since it seems like the only way to really do well is to be either highly persuasive, or intimidate/kill 'em all character.

Is that in Lothering, becasue you can choose to help the Chantry and run him off.  That would be the good option imo.

But yea coercion is defintiely necessary to either intimidate or persuade.  You can buy tomes to increase it faster.  It is definitely worth getting.
