In Miranda and Jack's argument over Cerberus (immediately following the completion of both their loyalty missions), you have the choice to either side with one of them, losing the other's loyalty, or resolve things with a paragon/renegade response, which preserves both of their loyalty.  What I'm trying to find out is if you are pursuing a romance track with either of them, do you have to take the potential LI's side?  In other words, does using the paragon/renegade option shut down the possibility of the romance?

The paragon/renegade option preserves the romance last time I checked. Picking against the LI will obviously shut it down however.

The Paragon/Renegade choice will have no negative impact on the LI relationship. Same can be said for Tali during the confrontation with Legion.

I'm also pretty sure that siding against an LI will break the romance permanently, even if you make a paragon/renegade check later to regain loyalty.

I was sure that siding against the LI would shut things down, but wasn't sure about the paragon/renegade.

Is it possible to regain either loyalty, after losing it by taking sides?  I can't remember any conversation where I would think such an opportunity would come up.

Afaik, you can regain loyalty later, but it requires an even higher paragon/renegade score than the initial check. Because I do Miranda and Legion's loyalty quests late in the game, I've never failed the initial checks...
