Watch the series 'Lexx'

Or you can skip the series where the starship is a repulsive insect and watch the far superior version: Farscape.

I've never seen one episode of Farscape so I camn't comment on the goods and bads of both series but Lexx, though cheesy was pretty good in a number of ways and with some of their concepts.

That wasn't actually half bad! Obviously low budget, and aliens that look like Wookies with bad mange look dumb, but I find atleast 1 episode very interesting. Havent watched Scifi serie since Babylon 5 (all seasons on marathon) couple of years ago.

Lexx was awesome IMHO. It isnt supposed to take seriously anyway, hence the cheese. And I LOVE cheese. :D Never seen Farscape though. I admit it is a hole in my civilisation for not watching it despite hearing lots of good things about it.

I've said before about how an EDI avatar could interact with Joker for more interesting situations. And could model EDI after Tricia Helfer, ala Miranda. That would be sweet.

They could... but they could use any appearance they want, really. The same can be said for the holographic representation she uses. I think Bioware may have stayed away from any organic-looking avatar on purpose, as it might have seemed like a simple rip-off from either Andromeda or Halo (i.e. Cortana). Tricia helfer is also an actress and earns her living doing live-action roles. I'd bet she'd be more expensive to get if her physical appearance was used. I find her beautiful, but others can differ. An anonymous CG character would work just as well.

If Legion was allowed access to communication with the Geth (i.e. EDI was authorized to grant communications privilege to Legion), EDI might have a few ideas about possible platforms (other than the Normandy itself). Some might not even look organic at all, or Geth-like. So having EDI modify the appearance of her "interface" (physical or holographic) would likely express a desire on EDI's part to influence the nature of her relationship with the crew, say by using a species-specific appearance. That's what the Vorlons did in Babylon 5: Vorlons look differently depending on your species.

It would be funny if the first glimpse of a female turian we got was actually one of EDI's holographic interface... Posted Image

Eh, I consider Dollhouse to be less sci-fi and more social commentary, like Gamer.

Lexx was the only tv series I've ever seen blue pubic hair in... has to count for something.

I'm old, so there are only two scifi- tv series that float my boat 100% of the time - Dr Who and the sublime wonder that was Blakes 7. Renegade Shep would have his wannabe ass kicked by Avon ;)

Oh, since we're doing suggestions... Get Star Control 2, here's an open source version:
http://sc2.sourceforge.net/
This game has aliens that aren't humans in makeup, have personality and humor, and it's just a whole lotta fun, although there's a lot of resource gathering.

Star Control 2 is so much awesome that I could explode of awesomeness-gazing.

I keep hearing rumours of a remake. This scares me more than you can possibly imagine. All these classic films being pissed on by remakes sicken me, greatness being washed away by a series of ill advised remakes. Lost....like tears in the rain.

Erm sorry I got a bit distracted at the end there......:alien:.

Oh, cripes. I went to IMDB just to see what their recommended suggestions were on the Mass Effect page.

One of the suggestions was the movie Dune, and somehow its poster image is Sting in his little undies.

THERE WAS A MEMORY I DIDN'T NEED BACK, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

(Oh, and the other suggestions were Halo, Avatar, StarCraft, and Mass Effect 2.)

Nothing can compare to Lifeforce. Because, you know, how can you go wrong with a science fiction movie in which the female lead spends the entire time walking around with no clothes on?

But the movie Dune was great. Even with those disturbing Harkonnen. Actually, they are one of the reasons that movie was great, they're supposed to be disturbing.

It has its merits.  I'm a David Lynch fan (even found something to like about Lost Highway, mess that it was), so I can get some enjoyment out of it.

And the PC/Sega CD adventure game they based on it was AWESOME, so at least we've got that.

(Okay, now.  Hit submit once.  Even if it doesn't show up right away, IT WENT THROUGH.  I can do this, I can do this...)

I remember one from a while back, called space above and beyond or somethinng slong those lines, was quite good then Fox cancelled it.

The modern BSG is ok but in my opinion there is hardly any action or battles, 90% of the time it might as well be Eastenders in space.

+1 for Babylon 5 that series was awesome.

The writing after season 1 was extremely poor due to Kevin Sorbo firing any writer with a brain in his attempts to make the dumbest sci-fi show ever to air.
Then there was the most blatant abuse of effects stock footage since the original Battlestar Galactica.

Care to provide any proof to support your claim?
As near as I am able to tell Keven Sorbo had nothing to do with the series except to star in it. Majel Roddenberry was the producer. It was created by Gene Roddenberry and Robert H. Wolf. It was directed by David Winning.
Majel has produced many sci-fi shows most of which were good all worth watching atleast once.

Kevin Sorbo is such a failure at acting that he infects such failure to everyone who works with him.

Attack of the Nudist Space Vampires from Halley's Comet! Worth the rental price alone for Patrick Stewart's performance when he's possessed. Though in comparison to Mathilda May's disdain for clothing, I noted you saw very little male-space-vampire 'equipment'. The umbrella-hatstand-tree spaceship is still a favorite of mine after all these years... really original design.
