I want to edit some already modified .cut and .cub files and no, I don't have the author's source code. I don't want to steal the work of others by any means, I'm just interested to see his work in the toolset. So basically the content works ingame, but I can't see it in the toolset. If I open the file manually I only see some text lines/codes.
Any way how to do that?

I don't think you can unless you have access to the source files because the toolset compresses everything into the module file that builders post (this is why Bioware posted their levels and source material separately for builders to use.) You might try contacting the builder on their social page. They might be willing to share some with you. The more people dabbling with the toolset the better.

It's compiled rather than compressed. Which means much of the information needed to edit it is lost.
