Hello All..

I am currently playing ME2 with 2 classes going the Soldier and Vanguard. I see lots of help on Insanity level but I am curious about advice for normal right now as I want to learn the game before the tough stuff. Are the all the builds people show obtainable on normal. I see alot about lvl 30 and NG+ but dont understand what that is. Cant you reach level 30 on Normal? I really love the vanguard and want to go far with it. I also like the soldier though and was wondering where to find some advice for it. Search didnt find a lot. Any general help and advice would be great. Just for the record I am trying to go full Paragon with my Vanguard and romance Miranda. My Soldier Im not sure yet, but prolly Renegade and some other female. Ive only gotten as far as completing Jack and all of Omega done.

Thanks to the Community in Advance.

Pretty much anything you want to do works on the easier levels of the game, so just do what seems fun to you.  The thing that complicates Inansanity, is that every enemy has some sort of protection you must remove, before your special abilities will work on them.

Unless you import a lv 60 ME1 character to start the game with, it will be impossible to reach lv 30 in your first playthrough.

Once you receive the long service medal, you will get an xp bonus in subsequent playthroughs, and you can reach lv 30 easily in one play.

NG+ or New Game plus, refers to starting a new game with an imported ME2 character of high level from a previously completed ME2 game.  You keep all weapons and powers, but lose all Paragon/Renegade and Upgrades. It is significantly more challening, at least for the first half of the game, to begin a game on insanity this way, rather than just starting with a low level character on insanity, as all the enmeies will be upgraded, and you will not be.

if youre playing normal then biotics should be your power of choice. on normal most enemies dont have armor/shields/ barriers. biotics shine against enemies without defenses.

The thing I loved about playing through on normal is that you could pretty much bring whoever you want with whatever abilities that look fun and be alright. Normal is great for learning the game and exploring the story. I had an absolute blast on my first play through on normal but since then I've been working on my Insanity run.

I found a full Paragon run to be easier then a full Renegade. Some of the renegade options were just downright mean and didn't sit well with me. The best run I've found so far is to do more of a mixed run with a higher paragon score then renegade. Some of the renegade options feel just perfect and can keep me laughing.

Best advice I can give is play through the first time without reading much about what to expect or what the best build is. Enjoy the first time through then dig into the details when/if you decide to try your hand at tougher runs. Normally I would jump online and find out as much as possible before/while playing a game the first time but with ME2 I resisted this and it was well worth it.

QFT with the renegade stuff, there really is something unsettling to me about being a cold heartless **** to everyone I meet, some of the time I enjoy the renegade interupts, like shooting the mech's head or starting the fight on Miranda's loyalty mission, but some of the dialogue is just evil.
