She doesn't, I find her performance in ME2 to be top notch. Different from ME1, but meant to be. I've heard her reasoning for it and I agree.

9FYI: In general, I'd regard Martin Sheen... and whoever played Mordin... as the best voice actors in ME2. But that's just me.)

Also, don't argue with The Angry One. (S)he always wins. She critiques *everything* mercilessly.
Plus comme, don't argue with the Angry One because there's no objective criteria to present in a debate on this topic and it will turn into another ****fest (which she excels at)

Grunt's VA is also Oghren from Dragon Age. I can't totally remember Ohgren's battlecry, but it was something like "Here comes OGHREN!" similar to "I AM KROGAN!"Sesshomaru47 wrote...

if the voice actors came on to this forum and looked around what do you think they would say
i cant help but laugh at the thought of the voice actresses for tali being freaked out buy the huge

and grunt just going "awww no love for grunt"
Grunt's voiced by Steve Blum, a fairly prolific voice actor (he did Spike in the dub of Cowboy Bebop), so I think he won't mind having a role that fell flat once in a while.
As for the rest, I dunno. But if Jennifer Hale is reading, I'm a HUGE fan!
Spike, the Laughing Man, Orochimaru, Todoh, Wolverine plus a bucket load of others!!! and last but not least the best FFVIII character ever! Vincent Valentine!
Jennifer Hale did Naomi Hunters voice....

Blum is the Kevin Bacon of voice over work. The guy is in everything.
I swear Robin Atkin Downes is in everything as well, although he seems to be doing minor VA these days.

He's not in WoW
But knowing him as a voice of Pyre Fierceshot and Rytlock Brimstone (Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2), it was easier to acquaint with Grunt.

I often wonder how much the voice actors are even into videogames. Do they even play? Is this just a job for them? Is it weird to play a game and hear your own voice talking as another person?
From what I've read, Jennifer Hale isn't much into video games at all. However, Mark Meer is a bit of a gamer. I think he said he pretty much played all the Bioware games he's had a voice role in.
I feel sorry for him, he may not read other people's lines, but surely his own spoil the game enough!
On topic though, I think the VA's look at the games as just another pay check. I remember when they asked Ray Liotta about GTA (I think it was Vice City) his only comment was that he wished he had known how popular the game was, he would have asked for more money.
I have my own thoughts on the Meer-Hale comparison, but I won't get into it here. I will say that the protagonist having a voice is a big reason I play Mass Effect games and not, say Dragon Age (again not a criticism against that game, just the way things are).
I think some of the more successful mainstream actors (e.g. Martin Sheen) probably don't check out the forums, but their agents might have assistants that skim and summarize feedback.

Where did you here that?
I ask becasue I am a huge fan too and like to hear interviews with her.
I would love to ask her though about her lines with Jacob and what they told her to do and what she thought when performing them.

Meer's tone of voice is just perfect for the Shepard I roleplay. I don't know how someone can watch the Commander Shepard is a Jerk video and still criticize him of being 100% monotone and emotionless. His consolation of Tali in her loyalty quest (in particular the "if you want we can go back and get you exiled") line is a great example of a paragon line that was executed with charm and emotion.
When he does use his monotone it's usually some hilarious threat that makes it all the funnier (and menacing) that it's said so casually. I can understand why players wouldn't like that, but I don't need to be told that I'm f*cking wrong because I enjoy his acting. Same goes for anyone who bashes Hale.

There's probably a reason I'm not a talk show host.

Funny thing: He did the voice of Roger Smith in one of my favorite animes, The Big O, and later did voice overs for 7-11 commercials (which aired here even though there hasn't been a 7-11 anywhere near here since the mid to late 80's; we also get Boston Market and Jack In The Box commercials despite none being anywhere close to here (there's only one JITB in the entire state!)) when 7-11's tag like was "Thank heaven for 7-11!" and used the Roger Smith voice. So I snickered whenever they aired, because I was imagining him saying "Big O thank heaven for 7-11!"
(And I hope Anderson has a bigger part in ME3, because Keith David is one of my favorite actors, voice or live action, and he was great in the first game.)
As for male Shepard, call me nuts but I think Scott McNeil (doing a toned down version of Wolverine from X-Men: Evolution) would have made a pretty good male Shepard, but I think Mark Meer is fine. Don't see what the problem people have with him is, except he played a handful of scenes from both games too low key.

I think it would be hilarious to see Yvonne on a talk show, and have the host ask her, "How do you feel about what Bioware did with your azz?". Then show a bunch of screen shots from the Miranda thread to emphasize.
Indeed, and when she gets up and walks out, they can do a close up of her ass, and have a comparison.

Great minds think alike! Then, I'd have to the same thing to the other VA's. What does Garrus' VA think of what they did to his azz?
