Do you think this series is as bad as people make out? I don't know for sure but maybe in other countries it was marketed as something other than a kid's book, it was definatley aimed at kids in the UK. I think.
Do you think the Inheritence cycle is as bad as people say?

Back when it first came out, I remember reading the first one (it was blue IIRC) when I was maybe eleven and i loved it! I also liked the movie, although it didn't follow the book at all.

The first one is the only one I've read, and I plan on keeping it that way. A tad too boring and average fantasy for my taste. Do a Google search for (I think this is how you spell it) Anti Shurtugal. If I remember correctly that's the site for Inheritance criticism, you may get more there.

Really generic and derivative from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and DnD IMHO. Really don't like them, and they get by on the fact that the writer was sixteen or something when he wrote it. (Which excuses him for writing that drivel, but not the people (read: adults) who read it.

You're talking about the Eragon books, aren't you? Well, I must say that I totally love them and that I am currently patiently waiting for book 4 to come out. I can't see why people think they are badly written. It's got a nice story with interesting fantastical elements. And I don't care about the age of the writer. Seriously. If that were to determine my choice, then I'd better just stop reading books. But I'm not going to go into detail here, since I currently have little time and I don't have the books with me to give decent arguments (and it's been a while since I've read them).

If you are talking about eragon I think he passes out to much in the first book.
and the "elven ritual" in the second book seemed like cheating.
other then that I liked it
