For companions you'll potentially meet Loghain, Wynne, and Alistair depending on your decisions in Origins. Edit: As for the "Anders is Fiona's kid" theory, I would be a little bummed with that, because I was thinking that Fiona and Maric's kid could be exclusive to the books or something (just a bigger role than just a companion in an expansion, unless he continues in some later addition), and Anders being Wynne's kid would be great for me since I liked Wynne and already like Anders from the video.

Half elves are humans. Elves have "adaptive genes." Elf+human=human. elf+dwarf=dwarf. So the Fiona thing could always work if the kid has somewhat blonde hair and is similar to the personality of Maric or Alistair. However, I'm still hoping it's Wynne's kid.

Could still be Maric's kid though, considering his reputation.

As amusing as this theory is, I have a feeling Wynne's son is in his 40's/50's. Remember, she is pretty old in the game and she says that it happened a very long time ago. I think Wynne probably bore her son when she was fairly young.



As for Anders being Maric and Fiona's kid, I have no idea where that comes from. After having read TST and The Calling, I think Maric gets a really unfair rap for bedding everything that walked by him.

There ARE no half-elves in this setting. Children of elves and humans are invariably humans. Elves genes don't work that way in this setting, hence why they are a dying breed slowly being edged out over milennia by humanity. It doesn't help the fact that they excel at poverty and have the amazing power of being easily conquered.

Fiona was a mage. I absolutey REFUSE to believe Alistair is her son unless the game says so. No implication, no "Well they said that someone's drunk cousin thought they saw Alistair's mom and she was wearing Grey Warden armor." No. It would have to be Fiona, standing in front of me saying, "Yo, Alistair is my kid."

Or Maric.

She talks about such things enough when you have certain people in your party. Even teases Alistair after he compliments her to be careful who he flirts with since she has been with younger men before.

Awww, it's not his fault. The sins of the annoying mother should not be inherited by the hot, Alistair looking son.

I personally think that Anders is Fiona's and Maric's son. From the video I get such a strong Alistair vibe that I can hardly blend out. He almost looks like Alistair, he almost talks like Alistair and even the voice itself sounds kind of similar to me. It's hard to believe for me that this is completely unintentional. They could easily be half-brothes. Moreover he does also look a bit like Cailan as Marics states in the book - even more lika Alistair in my personal opinion. Plus, Anders is a mage and thus a good candidate for being's Fiona's son.
I don't know if the Toolset is such a reliable resource in that regard but Alistair ought to be 32 there, so he would be older than Cailan even even if not that much, Loghain will tell you in the game that Alistair was held in the background so as not to offend Rowan in some way. She was already dead when Fiona and Maric slept with each other, so this is against the theory of Alistair being the child.

So, yeah... It would be great if anything concerning this would be revealed in the expansion because I really, really want to know.

As much as this theory would be awesome, the two problems I see are that, as some have mentioned: 1) Wynne implies that she had her child a fairly long time ago, and (2) her child was taken by the Chantry. You would think the child would have been kept an eye on, and eitehr trained to be a Chantry brother (like the revered mother in Wynne's story), or sent to a Tower at the first sign of magic. However, Anders is meant to have only gone to the tower in his teens, which implies a freer upbringing.

Fiona and Maric's son seems more likely - he does have a Maric/Alistair vibe after all. However, I'm not convinced either way. He's quite possibly not related to any of them. Though Wynne would explain her, rather unexpected, presence in the game.

I agree with Upturned Daniel, it's a good chance that Ander is wynne's son. I don't really now because I killed Wynne at the Tower Of magui, but I now 2 guys that played with Wynne and she mentioned a son.

Anoter reason that makes that a good idea is that Wynne is one of the charatchers that can appear in Awakening, I mean she doesn't have another really great reason to appear I guess... if she was really that important I couldn't have killed her at the Tower.

I hope they clear up once and for all what happened to Fiona and Maric's child - either by saying yes, we retconned the timeline and Alistair *is* him or by introducing him as a new character either Anders or some other person somewhere.



Kinda hope for Alistair's sake it's not him because that means if he does manage to reproduce with somebody despite the Taint, the kid would then have a chance of being a mage and thus not being able to carry on the line.

Ummm, that makes absolutely no sense. I could believe other things, but not "she's in the expansion so he could be!". Anora is in the expansion, Alistair is in the expansion, Oghren is in the expansion. The fact that she can die pretty much kills that chance for me. They would make her tougher to kill or push away (like Oghren) if they were going to introduce her child. Or she would make a bigger thing of having a child, maybe tell you in dialogue. Not in party banter that you would miss if you left her in camp.

It's highly unlikely that Anders is Wynne's son. Wynne's son was given to the Chantry, as are all children born to mages from the Circle. Hells. Jowan is more likely to be Wynne's son than Anders is.


As for Anders being Fiona's son, I believe Gaider already said that people were looking too far into it. Though I don't remember the exact thread that was in.


Alistair is most likely Fiona's son. And if he isn't, that means we have another one of Maric's bastards running around somewhere. Or locked under the castle being fed cake. I kid you not, there is a rumor about that actually in the game. Danal in Lothering says it if you ask him for rumors enough times.

Anders does seem that he could be Maric's and Fiona's kid.As for jowan he explains in the mage origin that he renember's his parents and they were normal people.
