Here's my favorite Zaeed story he tells Shepard:



"I took a job with a buddy. We were supposed to take out a turian, I think his name was Mantius or whatever, I forget. Anyway, not important. When we reached his location it turned out to be a goddamn setup. A turian, a krogan, two batarians, and a hanar! Damn jellyfish nearly broke my neck. I had to wear a neckbrace for a few weeks to cover it up. Never underestimated a hanar since..."

The Zaeed character is awesome. Right up to the point where he's pretty much a 2d cardboard cutout waiting to be crushed with the recycle button.

Bioware has the best character here to flesh out and provide Shep with real advice/help as a human that's literally been through pretty much all of it. And they reduce him to 3 conversation pieces and a handful of non-interactive canned lines. classic.

Zaeed is the only character in game more boring than male shep. But could have been far more interesting had they spent more than 2 hours creating him.

You never could initiate much dialog with him, but his mission comments are awesome.



Also Zaeed's propensity for lighting people on fire is somewhat hilarious. He's like the best friend every ReneShep could ever have

Not likely.  Zaeed has a reputation to uphold.  He wouldn't be seen as a reliable bounty hunter if his employers feared that he could turn on them if he got a better offer.

He gives you plenty of cool information without it. He is very similar to Wrex or Canderous from KOTOR and ME1. All they ever did was talk about their war stories. Zaeed is perfectly fine.

I dont understand the big upset with his non interactive dialog, just pretend Shep is saying "i want to talk about you, tell me about that gun/model/helmet"



Its not like there's tons of cool dialog with ANYONE on your crew, save maybe your LI, but really you get the same amount of personal information from his stories.

Edit:  Ah, nevermind.  I see the correlation you're going for.  The 'pointless merc with war stories' character that's usually hanging around in BioWare games.  Fail retracted.  Carry-on.

Yeah, especially when playing as a Paragon.  I wanted to be a good guy but Zaeed was such a badass that I made an exception just for him.

Yes, the first time I realized that you can actually hear more conversations about Jessie was a surprise. Especially the part where Zaeed tells of his final mission with the weapon...
