We have a new 8 page Dragon Age: Origins comic now available on the BioWare Blog. The comic was created jointly by Lead Writer David Gaider and BioWare Community member/talented artist Aimo.

The comic is, essentially, a cutscene that didn't make it into Dragon Age: Origins and features Alistair and Morrigan discussing the upcoming conflict with the Arch-Demon and the choice that the PC will have to face. David and Aimo have crafted an awesome 8 page comic that fits directly into the DA:O mythos.

You really should check out all 8 pages of the comic and visit Aimo's website for more of her awesome art. You can see the comic and the link to Aimo's site on the BioWare Blog here: http://blog.bioware.com/

Alistair: "Don't you knock?"

Morrigan: "...'Tis a Hallway."

Haha.

Well, I found it simply great. I don't know... I would have really liked to see this cutscene in game. In the beginning, I couldn't stand Morrigan but in the end my character became friend with her and... This strip is really amazing. Kudos to Aimo for the amazing work - Morrigan's expression when she calls back Alistair is wonderful, and vivid - and thanks to David for letting us taking this further glimpse into the story.

...Poor Morrigan. I never figured I ended up hurting her by becoming her friend. Lover, sure. Friend...not really.

This community has depth and talent. One wonders what they could come up with if freed from the corporate leash or granted a more generous lead.

I loved it. Very nice little comic.

Love when Morrigan shows her real emotions.

Excellent, excellent stuff.

Shame such a scene was omitted from Origins. As much as I enjoy Morrigan & Alistair bickering, this would have produced quite a moment on screen, as well as showing Morrigan in a different light.

Kudos to all who were involved.

Absolutely amazing comic, especially for a Morrigan fanboy like me. I can't believe this didn't make it into Origins. It would have easily been one of my favorite cutscenes.

Oh well. I'm just glad we got to see it in some form. My thanks to David Gaider and the very talented Aimo for making this happen.

Most if not all scenes cut from a game, are the ones that add to the story but are deemed to long, or something extra and unnessacary. So DA is probably missing alot more epicness like this.

What a fabulous comic. Kudos to Aimo, your work is amazing! Page four just kills me - my Dalish girl and Alistair...well, you get the picture with what happened post-Landsmeet with them.

That was a very touching exchange. Really sorry that it got cut out because it did shed some light on Morrigan's motivations. If anything else got cut, more comic pages to fill in the gaps pwease! <3

Also <3 Aimo's artwork.

I'd recommend a commercial partnership between Aimo and BioWare to offer all kinds of embellishments and background materials for the Dragon Age: Gold Edition.  Think about it, Aimo.  This could be your big break as a commercial illustrator.  Posted Image Posted Image

At least with my girl (who had Morrigan at near if not 100 approval), I had no doubts that Morrigan made the offer as much to save her friend as for the more obvious reason of personal interest.  She was about to turn down the offer entirely until Morrigan pledged that she meant her no harm, not today, or tomorrow, and it was believable enough to get my suspicious girl to listen.

But the comic makes for a great addition to lore, and I'm glad it was done.  Might be more moving in comic form the way it is than a a cutscene, really, since Aimo does such great work.  Of course, it only works for those of us who have female PCs, and preferably a romanced Alistair in some fashion, but still, its a fantastic work.

Interesting. Although as noted above, it does seem to be implying a female PC who has romanced Alistair, it does provide an interesting glimpse into Morrigan's character. Bravo!

Incredible, very good added insight into Morrigan. Would have preferred it from the point of view of Morrigan who romanced the male PC but I'm not complaining...too much.

Beautiful little comic - and apart from two lines, I found it totally fitted with my male PC who had 100% friendship with Morrigan.

And as above... 'Tis a hallway' - new favourite Dragon Age line.
