Anyone ever realize that there are no heavyset humans in the mass effect universe. Everyone has a similar build. It isn't really obvious unless you think about it. I think Bioware could add a lot more story and humor if they included some overwight villians. What do you think about this problem?

Yeah and reduce the game to some cartoonic series "Dr.Eggman" style?
It'd be hard having animations for each build and whatever weight you have in mind. Theory is always fine, in real life..ask the animators?

Fatties cause clipping issues
Not discrimination, only programmer laziness.

The future has genetic engineering and implants that control health and all that jazz. Fat people don't exist, well maybe there are some but they would be poor folk on earth.

Because there is no KFC and Taco Bell in the future.

Could easily be explained away as genetic alteration, which it seems you can have done on newborns in ME, and also can get as adults. I believe it is mentioned several times that Alliance troops get "routine gene therapy".
Edit: Imperial beat me to the gene therapy.

Well since .. there still earth... thats where the *heavier set* people are. + human race hasn't been apart of the galactic community that long and um.. putting a person of heavier mass, puts unneeded stress on the body.. when theres obviously more trained, toned, fit, appropriate people better for the job of representing the human race.
Ya know changes in gravity would cause terrible headaches and vertigo. You don't unfit people handling guns and fighting for you, or doing jobs that hinges and galactic security, not just human.
But really they shouldn't put an overweight person in mass effect just to prove the point .. of what your saying.
+ how would you create one? without affending someone or ya know.. putting to much in the wrong places.

Well it is like 500 years in the future. I don't think it would be unreasonable to say they've developed some kind of gene therapy that can be implemented on a baby before it is born. And it makes them healthier, including faster metabolism possibly. I remember hearing somewhere in ME1 that the average human life span is 150 years.

Because there is only one body model each for males and females with heads swapped around depending on the character. This is also why Joker is just as muscular as Shepard (I would have expected him to be skinny and frail).

There are 3 (!) chubby races that I can think of: the Volus, the Elcor, and the Krogans. Not enough for you?

If you want to be technical, Medical and Genetic modification advancements likely elimitate Obesity in the first-world human population. Next to making your wang bigger, obesity counters are the number one researched medical concern in the U.S. at least, yes, even more than Cancer. (Actually I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me, would it surprise you?)

500 years in the future? Not even close. Mass Effect 2 takes place in 2185.

to get technical, it was most likely done to simplify the dev of the game. Different body shapes=more dev time. easier to have 1 size human type body and slap a head on there (human male or Batarian).

It has plenty of fat people.
All the Krogan are pretty fat, I mean just look at their arms. Fat. The Volus are all fat too. Then there's Tali - we haven't seen her face, it could just be all fat for all we know. Also, the fat people we don't see are in their homes watching TV.
