Like I said they only one I can comment on is Garrus and that is because that is who my wife likes. Not sure if she will end up playing through with Thane as a LI but since her opinion of Jacob is he is a tool i kind of doubt it.

Kraidy, just ignore it, it is a thick idiot that is just butt hurt because it couldn't have Liara in ME2

Also it is too thick to understand there is no way for anyone to look into that section of the engine room as the angle of the windows stops anyone from doing so.

Why do I say this? Every single one of them can die. So what you may say I understand. Let us all stop and think what did they do with wrex? That chacter is the closest thing in ME1 we can look at to see what they will do with ME2 chacters.



I know I know I am nothing but a troll but ignoreing these things just because we want them does not change them. ME2 chacters are nothing but cannon fodder all of them can die ME2 is nothing more then a place holder till they get back to the real story(maybe)



Hell maybe kelly was a trail run for a romance with someone that is not part of your team but if you think about it the chances are slim. Hell I think the chances of them auctally doing something good with the LI from ME1 are even slimmer. I do find it funny the Paramour achevments for ME1 and ME2 have difference text under them.

Lol.  I think he meant the buildup befroe the sex scenes.  Miranda's romance had good build up and she was a bit hesitant to get in a relationship with Shepard till you convince her otherwise.  Then she's on you all freaky like and gets you thinking, "dear god what have I unleashed."  I'm now wondering will she only have sex with Shepard in the engine room now?  I can see it now.  Shepard clearing out the engine room every now and then for time with Miranda and the engineering crew tapes it to sell on ebay. 

Anyways, almost all the romances had their buildups, though I felt Jacob's romance was crap.

I'll say it again. It is impossible to have an objective discussion about ME1 vs. ME2 LIs because everyone has a preference for a specific character.

Of course if you pick Tali, Garrus, Thane, or Miranda you are going to think that the ME2 romances are more than a fling. Just like if you picked Kadian/Ash or Liara in ME1 you are going to think that that is your Shep's "true love".

Everyone has too much baggage to debate this objectively.

So far, I have found many of the ME2 relationships to be much more meaningful than any of the ME1 relationships. I'll be pretty disappointed if Tali, Garrus, or Jack and their romances were shoved off to the side, since I have Shepards that romanced all 3 of them, and found all of three of them genuine. I also recognize some people are devoted to Liara or Kaidan or Ashley, some are devoted to Thane or Miranda, and so on, and to those people I say, good on them. There's enough love for everyone.



I hope Bioware gives some good solid air time to every romance in ME3.

This is the truth.  The LIs are probably all serious about the relationship and it's all up to Shepard to decide what the relationship is.  If your Shepard treats the relation as a fling, it was a fling.  If your Shepard wants it to be more serious, you will probably get that choice.   Even if the ME2 LIs can die and they'll probably only get a cameo in ME3, you'll still get the chance (if they're alive) to tell them they're the only one for you and you love them and blah, blah, you'll live happy ever after.

Also considering how 'amazed' Bioware was with regards the Talimancers... don't you think considering them now knowing how nuts those people still are about her that they would be facing the biggest of all f-ups if they had it that the tali-mance didn't mean anything come ME3? Then there is Miranda, the real tough one to kill and that lots of people used during the various missions and has potential for plot progression due to possibly resigning from Cerberus. Noooo they aren't possibly going to have anything for the ME2 LIs are they?

As has been said, not everyone romanced Ash/Kaidan/Liara, so to claim they are important to EVERYONE is the biggest **** and bull story around. Some people probably didn't even use them much.

Liara, can easily just be a doormat in ME with her just saying Ilos then left in the room next to Chakwas for the final mission after picking her up AFTER virmire. Oh look ME2 and this time we don't have to worry about recruiting her, just using her once again as a doormat to go get Thane and Samara and this is coming from someone whom has one of his Shep's remaining loyal to her and did have her as a proper squadmate in ME but unlike some stupid people can understand why she was left in the important role she was in ME2.

One other thing people seem to be forgetting.

ME is a trilogy.

Ash/Kaidan and Liara were spared for the romance value to continue into the last part.
There is no fourth part, so there isn't a real reason to place the ME2 LIs as permanent cameo in ME3.

I highly doubt somebody is going to burn down Bioware for not making the ME2 romanches have a major impact. In fact it seems likely they will have a limited impact as the ME1 romances did.

People seem to over look or dont get the fact that the ME1 LI had a "limited role" so they could have new romacne at least thats how i see it



Instead of flat out "cheating" infront of your old romances face they got them off the ship alway from the mission with small roles in hopes players would look at and see the new members of the crew and new romacnes better, they most likely wanted players to be upset on the ME1 romacnes think it was over so they could "move on" to something else if wanted too



<shurgs> so with that in mind i kind of see it as that all ME1 and ME2 romacne will most likey be back as the first set of people Bioware would want to bring back as squadmates

I've heard several people say that the ME2 romances were created solely or mostly as temptation for players to "cheat" on their ME partner and that these relationships were never intended to be lasting or receive the closure that an ME romance will. I go back and forth on this one. On the one hand, I think Bioware knows better than to antagonize the player base by having one set of LIs be preferable to another. On the other hand, your ME LI is guarenteed to be still breathing, and the devs may not want to spend the same resources on characters who may be dead.

So, how are we supposed to feel about our romance options as we wait for ME3?

I just want to point out that it is WRONG. Its niot for you to cheat on your ME1 LIs. Its for new players. When you start a game on a new player basis with no imports , you have NO LIs. This means you're totally free to create any relationship you want.
