It's a sci-fi trope, get used to it. Practically every sci-fi universe has the bulk of humanity being made up of WASPs.
This is despite tha fact that only about 15% of the world's population is "white"...and that percentage is decreasing every year.
In the future, we'll all be a generic shade of brown, but sci-fi writers haven't gotten the memo yet. No big deal.

Captain/Councilor Anderson is a mix of several (dark-skinned) races.
Udina is clearly a mix between indian and other races.
50% of all the human NPC's in in Mass Effect are tanned.

Is Udina actually black? I got the impression that he was like a swarthy Grecian or something.
He's probably just Italian and gets tans on top of his tan.

He only works with aliens because he has to. And only through Shepard.

Where did you get these figures from? The top of your head? What about the people that bought the game, you think most of the buyers are Africans?Obliterati wrote...

So only Africans are brown? Not black Americans, East Indians, Sri Lankans, Latinos, Cambodians, Filipinos..?

Hey, hey. You spelled us wrong. Filipinos. And actually, I am fair-skinned. Granted, I am mixed, but still. Fair skin isn't too uncommon among us. d:Neria Rose wrote...

The point was, where is money coming from? Australia, North America, Europe? Or is it coming from Africa, South America, Asia?Neria Rose wrote...

As a black man I enjoy saying this everytime I can:
People like you hold all minorities down and keep racism alive. You're just as bad as any white supremacist. Everywhere you look you see race and racism, and ultimately you are completely unable to adapt to a society which has stopped looking at everything as a matter of race.
White people go out of their way to not give a damn about race. You should too.
Very well said.
Yes, he could get a job on the bull**** blimp.
Seriously you can't imagine how pissed off I am, not necessarily at his attempt to make himself feel better, but at the "Very well said" comment.
I am not going to divuldge further in that derailment attempt but goddamn give me a ****ing break.

Oh, and I'm not saying all SE Asians are brown, just as not all Latinos and black Americans are brown. Just that there are plenty of examples of non-African people who do not have light skin.

I think Jalem001 is right. I couldn't say it any better. A lot of people need to start taking responsibility for their own lives instead of blaming others for their problems.Onyx Jaguar wrote...
