As I previously mentioned, there is a specific Turian that has concluded that all humans have a natural tendency to harbor prejudiced attitudes and portray discriminatory behaviors toward other species.

This is not necessarily true, of course. The Illusive Man underwent multiple facial reconstructions to give him the appearance of a celebrity. It is unknown if his skin is its natural color.

That's still pretty funny.

Also, he's white because Martin Sheen is.

Win.

*Edit: Also, if you read the novels, they point out that the vast majority of humans are of mixed race by this point, though we're not as homogenized as other space-fareing species yet.

Again Anderson and Udina. Plus you can make Shepard black.

Udina is white.

He has this suntan on him, kinda tries to mask his white ****ness. ****!

I always thought Udina was latino personally... :?

There's two type of Latinos: Indio-latinos, and frikking Spaniards. Udina's a Spaniard!

Ah yes, "sophisticated upper-class white guys". We have dismissed that claim.

Id prefer if you called yourself a "Conquistador", sounds way cooler than "Spaniard".

My guess is because if TIM was black there would be about 100 threads about how one of the only black men in the ME universe was leader of a terrorist organization. This is a bit of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.

You could view the Illusive Man as being the villain in the end with his cold ruthlessness and wanting to keep the Collector base.

Then you'd get whatever race they made TIM complaining Bioware made a bad guy after them.

Gender is irrelevant, thinking of Udina as.. as.. a.. countryman... blarg.
On the other hand, Martin Sheen is by parentage.. wait, does that make TIM a countryman? Oh well, at least he's bearable.

I hereby declare Udina an Antarctican.
The penguins aren't in the UN, they can't complain.

Actually if you pay attention Bioware has made some careful choices in the backstory of the Mass Effect universe to address the issue of mixed-races.

Playing through Mass Effect 1 a couple years ago, I thought it interesting that several human characters' races were not immediately identifiable.

At the time I thought Anderson was probably semi-black but I wasn't sure (turns in the the Revelation novel he's revealed to be "predominantly African" but with "traces of Central European and Native American ancestry".)

Kaiden was another mysterious one. He looks mostly caucasian, but the jet black hair and eyes suggest that he may be part Asian as well. IIRC he was one of the kids who grew up in Singapore.

In the ME novels too it was been noted that most humans have had interracial marriages so pure blonds etc were becoming very rare (such as one of the main characters in the novel Ascension). Look around in the citadel in ME1 and you'll see that a lot of human models/designs who are amalgams of different races.

And there's Shepard who can be just about any race you want him to be. Probably the most important human in the Mass Effect universe, so how about that?
