I am in the middle of the quest to prepare the Town for the Night Attack. I've found my self unable to complete the quest because of the difficulty of the battle. If I left the town to handle other quests would I be able to come back to it later?

No, the entire town would be destroyed after you left.

I am not joking.

Just turn down the difficulty if you are having such problems.

No, the village is wiped out when you leave. Have you tried setting the difficulty lower?

Oh wow, glad I didn't just leave :P I wanted to avoid the ego hit of dropping the difficulty down but I guess it's better to have a more fufillinf gameplay experience than stress over keeping everyone in the fight alive.

Thanks for the help! I apologize for not searching through the forums for probably an already answered question but this is my first play through and I am trying to avoid too many spoilers.

For that, you are forgiven. Lol. I learned the hard way that everyone is killed. I got to Redcliffe talked to Bann Teagan and talked to Alistair about....family stuff....(avoiding spoilers for you, lol) and went straight to Denerim. Then came back to a empty village.
