I've seen the first image reposted on various other forums. I've always maintained it's the best Mass Effect art I've ever seen. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this thread. I got a new wallpaper in the form of the third image (I love how you included everyone, even Kasumi).
Thanks so much for doing such a great job on these and capturing that dramatic sort of space opera dynamic in your art.

These are very well done. I am also a big Star Wars fan and these are on par with any of the fan art I have ever seen! Keep up the great work!
Have you done any art from ME1?

I'm sorry, but I don't love these. The individual likenesses aren't very accurate, and some of the poses look awkward. The actual painting skill is very good, but the underlying drafting could use some polishing. I definitely encourage you to keep painting, but you should really focus on the drawing aspect for awhile. You've got a good grasp of lighting, and there's certainly a lot of drama in these paintings. Your talent is undeniable, but you need to hone your craft if you want to become truly exceptional. I suggest studying the artwork of Alex Ross, he is an amazing illustrator/painter and your work has some similarities of style to his.
P.S.: I really dislike the Tali/Shepard groin clinch in the first painting. Tali may be your LI of choice, but if this is meant to be a mass-audience poster, then the appearance of one LI being favored over another should be avoided. The all-pervasive Tali Lust we find here on the boards is off-putting for those of us who do not share it. If you wish to appeal solely to Talimancers, then this was the right call, but only in that instance.

Hi Siansonea II. Thanks for your feedback, I welcome all views. As they say, you can't please everyone and indeed I'd be foolish to try.
You're right about the likenesses, they're not perfect and I still need to work on the underlying foundations of my skills, but that's why i love what i do, there's always more to learn. However just because that area of my work has yet to meet my personal standards that doesn't mean that i can't try my hand at work like this.
I never thought these pieces would be taken into full scale production, they're just for fun and hopefully others along the way will enjoy them. The Shepard/Tali piece was simply a reflection of the gameplay experience I chose, i found the character interesting as she's not quite from the standard mould, lust doesn't come into it.
Thanks again for your feedback, I enjoy such critique as it provides me with additional challenge. You're right about the likenesses, in the long run i'll do eveything i can to ensure that doesn't remain an issue. Thanks again - Nick

These are brilliant!
Gah, accidentally hit enter before I was done with the post.
I think overall the attention to detail and care is definitely there in the composition as a whole. You have much more patience than I in rendering large groups of folks. I agree that there is absolutely a star wars movie poster sensibility going on here, but you seem to make it your own in execution so it works!
Anyway, hat's off to you with these, they're lovely. I can only imagine how much time you invested in these from my own meager experience. While some tiny details might be up for scrutiny, I'd still happily buy a poster of this.
Awesome work on these!

I love the new crew picture; very beautiful, keep up the good work. Now we need a villain poster, one with Saren, Benezia, Sovereign, Harbinger.

Wow, the full crew one is something else o_o
I love that you included the SR2 and everything. Only thing missing is Joker (and EDI) lol
I must say too, I love how you did Shepard in particular. I like all the characters you did, but there's very intriguing about Shepard I really like.
Really good work, you have a lot of talent

My thanks to everyone for their supportive and constructive feedback. It's been a blast doing these and i've learnt new skills along the way. I don't think i'll have the time to do anymore Mass Effect art in the near future; the time has come to knuckle down and focus on building up my own art and skills. I dare say I'll be here with more art when ME3 comes around and just like from my old ME1 art to ME2 art; it'll be leagues better! Thanks again everyone! - Nick

7th_Phoenix - Thank you!
Siansonea II - Hopefully we'll cross paths in the future and whilst I said I'd be foolish to try and please everyone I might at least try and see whether my new art wins you over
Alex Ross isn't an artist i've looked at in a great deal of detail so I'll be looking at him more closely. Thanks again for the critique, all the best - Nick

Wow !
Amazing talent you have Exu1a.
All the characters look great and doing what they do in the game. Also a treat to get ALL the characters in one spot. I can see Joker waving from the Normandy too

Exu1a, I absolutely love all your artwork, and your new piece is about to become my new wallpaper!
I also have to contest Siansonea II: you may not like the first picture because of the Tali romance part, but this is not official, commissioned art for Mass Effect or Bioware. It is one artist's expression of his imagination and his gaming experience. The components of his first painting represent his personal playing experiences and what he enjoyed about the game, which for him may be those characters and that romance. You may have had a different perception or experience with the game, but that doesn't mean you should dislike a picture because it doesn't reflect your experience, or because it doesn't display a nondenominational or canon image. I think the pictures should be judged on their quality and imagination (which is outstanding), not by how well they follow the game canon or how photographically accurate they are.

The full team one is now my Wallpaper. I like how you adopted the game's prevalent color scheme into the background. Each character's pose also reflects a bit on their personality as well, which is also a plus. Either way, it's awesome.
