 I love this skill.

I am a Sentinel on Insanity and I took this because I thought if fit the theme. I am a tactical dude, and I have all the tools. So I figured I might as well carry some 'nades.

It's an amazing skill! You have to aim it, and it takes some getting used to, but it makes you feel like you are doing something. You can throw it over cover, and it hits covered enemies. it has a massive area of effect and it OWNS armor. It's very similar to incinerate actually. I highly suggest you all try it.

~UPDATE~

It's a misconception that it has low range. Although it's true it doesn't have maximum range like homing/line of sight skills it still has plenty of range. You just need to understand that you need to arc it high into the air to make it go further. THis does makes it much harder to aim as the target gets further as it has a long travel time. But I never said it was easy to use. You really need to MAN UP and deal with aiming it carefully.

Inferno Grenade Facts

It always staggers foes if they even get hit by a fragment of the grenade. No matter how many defenses they have, it will always stagger them and knock them out of cover. This is the biggest bonus of the grenade.

It is a fire skill and will panic foes who are down to health, lighting them on fire.

Inferno Grenade has a massive area of effect because it explodes into multiple fragments.

unfortunately the grenade doesn't even get a cooldown increase as it is not a tech or biotic power. So as the game goes on you will probably end up using it less because of long cooldown. However it does have a relatively short cooldown early game and is a wonderful armor killing spell when fighting early Korgans.

I took it as a soldier as my only means of CC.

It's a beast

I find Inferno Grenade to be really REALLY lacking. It won't strip armor in one shot even on minions, due to its low base damage, plus the fact that it doesn't have the +% damage biotic/tech powers have. Even worse it also does not benefit from the CD reduction as well from upgrades, meaning it feels noticeably slower than overload/warp. So really, it suffers much for the same reasons as Concussion Blast.

I see no reason why its better to have that over Area Reave, which does what grenade does but better, and it does more than that while you're at it.

warp fills the armor problem more than enough imo on a sentinel. You already have everything you need with direct damage offensive powers.

More importantly, inferno grenade doesnt have the biotic or tech damage upgrades. 50% damage will make warp far more deadly than the grenades unfortunately.

Woah, you actually throw the grenade? I didn't know that. Zaeed just points and people catch on fire. It's kinda lame how your squad mates' powers aren't fully animated.

Yeeah, seems like a waste on a Sentinel when you have Warp imo.

I find it rather useless TBH. It does have a rather cool animation though.

It's like an AOE Incinerate (Incineration blast x2) with less range, no homing capabilities, low hit rate with each consecutive fireball, and it can't even take down armor instantly with one fireball. There are better options.

It's great on Zaeed because it is instant. Otherwise, it is pretty bad on Shepard. Warp and Reave are better, and Incinerate is basically the same and benefits from upgrades.

But hey, whatever floats your boat and is most fun for you.

I tried it once but I thought the range was way too lame. :|

I find the damage very lacking compared to warp and reave. As other posters have said, it looks good ... but lacks punch.

Inferno grenade is garbage, no if, ands, or buts. The fact that you need to aim it means you're probably spending more time exposed just to half-ass strip a target's armor or catch someone on fire.

It isn't garbage.  It has a huge area of effect and is the only form of CC for a combat power which is important for people who RP.  You don't have to expose yourself to enemy fire to aim it just aim it from behind cover or if you are out in the open pause the game.

It isn't spectacular but its far from garbage.

It serves Zaeed very well. He has Disruptor Ammo which works well vs. shields. He has Concussive shot which I believe does x3.5 damage to barrier. He has Inferno Grenade which works against armor.

Not to mention, Disruptor Ammo can overheat weapons and stun/knockdown synthetics, Concussive Shot has a big knockback effect, and Inferno Grenade has a huge AoE panic. Plus, the latter 2 will stagger enemies. And he only has one eye.

Tell me ladies and gentlemen, what exactly can Zaeed not do?

I love it for Zaeed, but whenever I have used it myself, I can't throw it far enough.

Whoa... You'd take... Inferno Grenade as a Sentinel?... Um...just... wow... if it works for ya, more power to ya, but man, you already have 4 active attacks that can handle pretty much any situation... (not even counting when your armor explodes).

If you read his post then you'll see that he's liking it because of the theme and mechanics, not because it's the most powerful. Not everyone want's Reave.

I refuse to use Reave. Everyone knows that reave is the best skill. Area reave > all powers. it's pretty much cheating.

I am not sure what you guys are talking about with the range of the grenade. It can go as far as you need you just need to aim higher and arc it correctly. It takes skill to throw the grenade, which is what makes it cool. Also you don't need to stand out of cover for 30 min to aim it. You need to pop out, and then pause the game and aim in pause mode. Then unpause and throw the perfect grenade.

Also although it can't strip armor in 1 shot, it does have a huge blast radius, it always staggers and sometimes panics the enemies. And yes I am not AT ALL saying this is the best bonus, however if I don't want to take an ammo power, and I don't want reave this is the most interesting power.

Dominate is a pretty overpowered bonus power as well. You can easily beat Insane with any class using it.

It is? I have used dominate, I didn't really think it broke the game. I wouldn't it overpowered at all.

Well I will try it again, but I thought that I was arcing it pretty high when I tried it.  The best I remember I arced it as far as I could at enemies about 30-40ft away.  They were behind a couple of crates and I  couldn't get it to fly over the crates.  It always landed in front of the crates.

I tried Dominate, but I wasn't really impressed.  It didn't think that it made that big of a difference on the battlefield.

I really hate slam. I don't get what it's for. I feel like it's worse than both pull and throw. I guess if you are a class that doesn't have either, it's an alright sub...
