Really? ****ty? I didnt get that vibe at all, I felt femshep was empowering and toyed with the poor witless fella. The problem if anything is you have no choice but being all saultry with him, but romance/nothing is a common theme in ME2. I still felt it was better than the "subtly-but-not-so-sublte-inflating-of-chest-poor-baby-come-to-momma ordeal with Thane. Garrus was the best conversation wise.

Though my femsheps endeavours happen off-screen mostly, with anything from 2 to 8 imaginary partners. Foolish notion of sex=love is not for my femsheps, it´s a great stress relief, power demonstration, cardiac training and substitues for 30 minutes jogging. win-win.

There is a certain overtness to Hale's delivery with ol' Jacob, so I can see where people are getting the vibe from (I got it myself too), but you've got a valid point there. It could be read as Shep as taking any port in a storm as they say, but it really is a case of personal perspective rules. Nothing wrong with that at all... speaking from a female perspective, men aren't the only ones that can sit back and say they enjoy/have enjoyed getting their ashes hauled without it resulting in more than exchanged phone numbers and the obvious. Might not be popular to some, might not float with some people's moral stance (and there's nothing wrong with that either), but it's true... sex does not always equate to hearts and flowers happy ever afters. Sometimes it's just an itch to scratch.

*shrug* Just my take on it all :)

I dont know, maybe it´s because I´m swedish and sex is like any other need that needs to be filled and noone hides it when that´s the case, but in my experience women are most often the aggressors even when the man thinks he is- They are just as blunt and needing as us but they´re more...umm..covert about it. So while I agree it´s annoying only because femshep has no choice but being saultry with the first man she sees, if it were a different conversation path but I usually ignore Jacob anyway, he´s worse than Garrus when it comes to slinging the bull.

I really hope that is what most peoples problem is, I cincerly hope it´s not cause femshep is the aggressor cause then I fear for us all. Personally my reaction was "Hell yes!" the first time I heard femsheps "let´s talk", it was like long overdue.

Oh, I don't mind her being an aggressor. But I'd like to choose to WHOM she is. Certainly not Jacob... Hell my best wing girl's pick up line was "hey, nice shoes. Wanna ****?"

Why would you want to romance Jacob any ways? He is so boring and looks cross eyed most of the time.

I don't want to romance Jacob, but I'd like to be friends with him without acting like I want to jump him.

Yes, I can agree with you there - it would be nice to be able to choose, but I guess there's only so many readings they can cram into the game. And it really shouldn't be there from the first damn line... even if you are hot to trot from the moment you first see a guy, do you want him to think it'll be that easy? Though on the flipside it's not often in mass media you see a woman playing out Kirk's 2nd Law when she isn't being painted from moment one as a tart-with-a-heart or a poorly coded She-Man.

Ha! That sounds like one of my lines back in my teens :)

seriously,
what where the devs thinking? Terrible! And the worst part is that
maleshep has the same line and almost sounds gay there... [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sick.png[/smilie]

I love this game w/ the exception of about 3 really big peeves, this being one of them.  If you push the issue w/ Jacob and Miranda (I think it's the 2nd time you talk w/ him) then the romance option
dies.  Unfortunately, that just makes fenShep sound desperate when
initiating any convo w/ Jacob.

Actually, I think Miranda did it.   She and Jacob broke up on
really bad terms and so she programmed femShep to sound like a skank
every time she tried to be polite to him. ;)

I couldn't get my FemShep to try romancing Jacob either because of how desperate she seemed and with Thane, you get the dialog option "I want you" which just made me forget the whole thing.

The funny thing was the most natural progression for either MaleShep or FemShep was with Jack. For FemShep it progressed until she got turned down and for MaleShep you got the chance to say "I want to get to know you better". Afterwards I was thinking 'what the hell'?

I'm trying to RP my femShep's way out of the ridiculously randy tone of her requests to chat with Jacob. The way I see it, there are two possibilities (since she's faithful to Liara and has no interest in any ME2 romance):

1) "I'm just interested in... talking for a bit." (Damn, it's been ages since I've just hung out to shoot the bull with a fellow soldier. How do I even open these conversations? I've been too mission-focused for too long. I bet I sounded weird. I hate it when I do that.)

2) "I'm just interested in... talking for a bit." (Don't laugh at his teeth. Don't laugh at his teeth. Oh no, here they come... DON'T LAUGH AT HIS FREAKISH TEETH!")

You people are all sad saying you do not what to talk to jacob because of the way female shepard acts don't blame jacob. And plus maybe female shepard just likes jacob what is wrong with that and i really hope bioware brings jacob back because to many of you are giving him hard time.

Not sure how many prostitutes you've been with but none of them act like that ( actively trying to bed you for their own pleasure alone )

Exactly.

I don't mind my Shep talking like that as well when doing it with the right person. She is downward paragon with sane renegade moments and would only talk to a man like that she loves/appreciate. It's just that kind of talk she can pull out at Kaidan behind closed doors...so that no one sees him get flustered... <3

And then he would cure that certain itch with reach and flexibility [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie] [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie]

(Oh teh saucy plotbunnies... Nooez >.<)

Hale puts on this whispery prostitute voice that I guess is supposed to be sensual. I heard that Jacob was the flirtatious one, but then I see Jacob with his eyes wide saying "Wow, I didn't really think of you that way, Commander" FemShep goes on "I just wanna know that my ass isn't gunna get blown off if I hit on you". So yeah, poor Jacob.

It doesn't make sense cuz she doesn't talk like that with Thane and Garrus, right? And by the way the only thing gay about MaleShep's convos with Female LI's is his posture, "hey Garrus I'll just lean over here like this while you talk" :P

My femshep (who had no sexual interest in jacob whatsoever) is "just friends" with jacob. She felt comfortable enough with him to loosen up and have an informal conversation, since he's just a cool guy like that.

Most guys might have taken her tone as sexual mixed signals, but jacob didn't. He knew she was just trying to relax a little and have a light hearted conversation, even though she didn't really know how to do that well. It really looks to me like they have a comrade/drinking buddy relationship. It makes for a good bro-hug/fist bump/ hit up a bar sort of relationship.

I find that most of the neutral options are alright. As see him as a "buddy", if you will.

That opening convo line does grate on the nerves though. They even put "talk" in quotes in the subtitles. Really guys? You couldn't have given her a more neutral Miranda-esque "Have you got a minute?"
