Does anyone have a list of creatures and which types of damage they are resistent/vulnerable to? I'm quessing that dragons are resistent to fire damage but I'm not sure. Obviously undead are vulnerable to cold iron and darkspawn to silverite. Is a revenant undead? Is the arch demon darkspawn?

I'm trying to think but nothin' happens...Jerome 'Curly' Howard

If I remember right, spiders and undeads are resilient to nature damage, and actually spiders seem pretty weak against fire. rages demons are weak to cold and resist fire. i'm prettry sure the archdemon is considered a dragon and not a darkspawn. Revenants are most definitly undead as well as arcane horrors.

AFAIK, that resistance information is in the Toolset ... and nobody's compiled it. The game certainly doesn't provide it to you in any fashion.

The Prima bestiary, and online monster guides, mention nothing about resistances/immunities/vulnerabilities.

I proposed an in-game solution to this a while ago: have chars have a Beast Lore skill. The more they raise it, the more they know about creatures, including resistances. If you have a Beast Lore of 4, you'll know everything a critter is resistant to -- and what it's vulnerable to.

It shouldn't be something every char knows, but it could be a skill they develop.

It is tricky to figure out the resistances for monsters. First you have to understand that resistances are applied to a creature through creature talents. Any creature can have one or more talents. For instance a Reverant has 3: undead_properties, revenant_properties, and nature_immunity. Second, each area in the game usually uses a different copy of a creature template. So it is possible for a Revernant in the Forest to have different resistances then one at the Mage Tower. 99% of the time they are the same but they can be different.

Here is a listing of the passive talents. Sorry being a little lazy and I just copy and pasted from the 2da file. You can get a general feel for the resistances based on the listing. But just remember a monster can one or more of the following.

abomination_properties: strength +5, electricty +25%

arcane_horror_properties: spellpower +10, magic +20, mag res +20

archdemon_properties: cold, electricity, spirit +90%

bear_properties: 50 nature resistance, +10 armor

Broodmother Resistances: 75% Mental resistance, 75% nature damage resistance, 2 armor

Darkspawn Resistances: 15% fire vulnerability, 25% nature resistance, +7 attack (off set all weapons giving -10 to attack)

demon_properties: Spellpower + 5, Armor +5, Health Regen Combat +1

demon_resistances: 50% fire resistence, 5% spirit res

dragon_properties: fire +90%, armor +5

Dwarven Magic Resistance: 10% magic resistance.

genlock_properties: 5% magic resistance.+3 mental res

golem_properties: Armor +10, Defense - 10, physical resistence 50%

high dragon_properties: armor +10, attack -50, def -30

hurlock_properties: 5% cold, 5% spirit resistance, 1% displacement

ogre_properties: cold res 20%, mag res 10%

ogre_properties_2: spirit resistance 15%, damage + 1

pride_demon_properties: mana combat regen +1, spellpower +5, Armor +5

revenant_properties: Stamina regen 1, Armor +2, 75% mental resistance

spider_properties: 75 nature resistance, 10% fire vulnerability

steel_golem_properties: electricty and cold resistence 50%

stone_golem_properties: fire and cold resistance 50%

trait_cold_vulnerability: 75% cold vuln

trait_fire_vulnerability: 75% fire vulne

undead_properties: cold +75%, fire -25%

werewolf_properties: Combat Health regen +1, Stamina combat regen +1, crit +1

wild_sylvan_properties: armor +5, fire -50%, health +25

wisp_properties: Armor +3, Defense + 10, health -20

Undead are immune to nature damage, though resistant to cold damage. Beasts have 75% nature resistance. Revenants are weaker against fire, and that's all I know for sure.

This is really useful. For instance it means that the archdemon(which is also a dragon) is highly resistant to all damage types EXCEPT nature damage, though I'm assuming the archdemon stats refer to resistance.
