Ive beaten the game both as renegade and paragon.  My first playthrough was as renegade and a few of my team died. (which wasn't really a bad thing because it made my first experience much more dramatic)

My second playthrough as paragon Everyone survived except for a couple people from my ships crew got liquified because I made a mistake by gettion legion too quickly.

I decided to play through again so I can have a perfect game but I plan on keeping my other files so i can have lots of different play through experiences for ME3. My first game was a soldier, my second was infiltrator. Decided I'd play adept for my third but realized I hated it. Then I realized I was starting to get bored of the game much to my disatisfaction.

Anyways to the point. I decided to play infiltrator again because I enjoyed the class alot and I love the sniper rifle I then started playing where I would never fire any of my other weapons, and only my sniper rifle, I found when I did this I used incinerate every chance I got and relied more heavily on my team, not only that I found I would have to make mad dashes in the midst of gunfire to grab an extra clip here and there when I ran out.

This has actually made the game really fun again, and I suggest to some of you if you like infiltrator and havent tried this to consider it.  I'm using geth shield as my extra power, it helps alot for when I have to dash out into the open to grab a clip or two in order to finish the fight.

So basically to sum up the rules~
  • Absolutely no using any other weapons, heavy or otherwise.
  • Sniper rifle only.
  • Incinerate and AI hacking allowed. (although my build i'm not bothering with ai hacking)
  • No offensive powers allowed for your extra ability.
  • Warp or Armor peircing ammo is allowed.
  • Play on insanity. (Hardcore is fine too I guess if you're not up for insanity)
Let me know if any of you try this, or have tried it :)

All I really did on my infiltrator was spam cloak/snipe and incinerate anyways lol.

Not sure if you are allowing cloak or not, but for it to be a REAL challenge, disallow the use of cloak. :D

Speaking of making infiltrator fun, I never really used the viper after I picked it up, but then a couple of days ago I tried it out on one mission instead of my widow and it's a real blast to shoot. It feels more like a long ranged heavy pistol with real rapid fire and a hell lot of ammo.

Also, I'm wondering, has anyone using infiltrator tried the area incinerate (I think that's what it's called- I forgot) as opposed to the heavy incinerate? I currently have heavy incinerate and thought it might be more fun to have more blast radius considering I use incinerate a lot (more than my cloak)

Incineration blast is great against husks. I actually find it more useful than heavy since I use Incineration the most on them.

I don't understand the point of your challenge. Sit back in cover, use cloak and snipe...sounds like a pretty typical Infiltrator strat to me. Besides, with proper usage of your squad, you could beat Insanity by sitting back in cover and using Incinerate all day as an Infiltrator.

Now a CQC Infiltrator on Insanity...that is an interesting prospect...

Maybe so but when I played infiltrator the first time, if I ran out of sniper clips I'd simply switch guns, and I'd use a heavy gun for the big guys. This may not be as different or challenging as a CQC but I find it pretty fun personally.

Upon running out of clips for my sniper, knowing I can't use my heavy pistol, smg or heavy I find myself scanning the battlefield for clips laying around during the firefight. I also use them more wisely, utilize my team more, and ofcourse incinerate every time its finished cool down. The boss fights are also more interesting.

Still the only real difficulty I've run into so far is on Horizon currently, but that was expected anyways. Either way I find it more fun.

I actually found myself using cloak/melee a decent amount of times...but yes, this would indeed be interesting. :o

Can't wait to hear how long it took you to down the praetorian on insanity. Good luck :)

Just beat the praetorian. Only died once. It was freaking annoying lol. I basically just ran around and hid untill my team took down the barriers, then i'd incinerate and fire a few sniper rounds till it went back up. Then I would continue to run around collect more rounds, and take cover till my team took the barriers down again. took a while but it wasn't too bad.

The Praetorian fight has infinite respawns of ammo in several locations so it's definitely doable. It is kind of fun using the cloak to run up and grab ammo and then run back to cover.

Btw-  You haven't played a Vanguard yet??? That class is extremely fun to play (yes, on Insanity).  Agree that Adept is boring (and feels extremely underpowered on Insanity) after playing the Infiltrator and/or Vanguard.

ps- You should definitely play the Vanguard if you haven't yet, it's extremely fun on Insanity.

Yeah Vangaurd will probably be the next one I try.

Also Im on the recruit tali mission now and I've found that I've had to melee alot of geth here. I've found clips to be sparce and incinerate is practically useless here. Its definitely interesting.

If all mobs gonna wait in queue and headshot goes through their head, in this case it will be a piece of cake.Otherwise there will not be enough ammunition I guess for that. Don't even have an intention to test.

Well So far I haven't had too much problem. Theres been a couple times I can't find any clips, or its too dangerous to run that far to get any, I just wait for my team mates to take down shields and I use Incinerate alot.

For the most part though I conserve my clips pretty well and can usually find enough during the firefight to be okay. A couple boss fights have proved challenging but its fun. To the point ive reached now, I believe its definitely doable.

I also prefer Area Incinerate for Infiltrators since it is so effective against Husks. The first incinerate will strip a groups armor and the second one will kill the whole group. (on Insanity)
