Although some of the complaints are vaild some people are taking it too far with all those "ME2 sucks threads". They're probably only a few complainers. However I do have complaints of my own. My two complaints are the removal of the ability to choose our teamates armors even if it seemed frustrating to BioWare I'd still like to customize their armor just like Shepards. Then there's also the fact that now we can't wear the old N7 armor or ME1's heavy armor variants to be more specific. The inexcusable, I don't care if the new N7 armor is more advanced I like options and removing them only makes people angry. Aside from that all the mercenaries in the game get to wear it but we don't. I hate when developers give common things to the enemy and don't give them to the player.

I loved to show off.

80% of the forum were not dissapointed with Mass Effect 2.

Now, people will complain no matter how good something is.

I'm on my third, will probably play three more, and the main plot is still garbage. It is possible to like the game, nay, love it without excusing its flaws or degenerating the first because of it. many defenders of the story of ME2 simply retroactively dismiss the first game. It's ridiculous. This game improved in combat, character and side-quests but failed in its overall story arc. It makes more sense as the introduction to the universe than as a sequel. No amount of sophistry or " everything will be explained in ME3" will change this. Bioware screwed up on telling the story here.

Most people on the boards would rather everybody shut up and praise Bioware and not voice any concerns or criticism. As consumers, they've decided that the best way to consume is to be uncritical and liberal with praise - anything else is just whining. Buy product, love it, shut up. Or don't buy it because you can't uncritically praise it at every turn. Actually wanting a product to be improved is apparently impossible - you can't love something but think it flawed and therefore needs improvement. No, you need to shut up and love it or don't buy it at all. These are the options. It's all very stupid.

Granted, there are whiners and rather anal folks ( some things listed as plot holes are rather ludicrous) but the majority of criticism of the main plot in particular have been spot on: it lacks proper pacing, does not advance the story, is too disjointed from the rest of the game, and as a result the suicide mission that is the game's purpose falls flat, worsened by the terminator as end boss. All of this could have been much better. Whatever though.

I'm going to have to say that although I love this game, it just doesn't have the replay value for me that the 1st ME had. It could be the romance, but I really doubt it. It's got to be the story. I was content with the first game as-is: a Space Opera, great even on its own; but playing ME2 just makes me ready to play ME3 rite nao.

Mass Effect 2 is better than the 1st game in a lot of ways, but the 1st game was like nothing I'd ever played before it. I consider myself a pretty hardcore gamer, but when Mass Effect came along, it changed everything (game-wise). At least, for me. Although ME2 was great, I really can't say the same for it.

Yeah, and the argument that anyone who doesn't post their complaints on the boards loves the game is utter bull. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who have their beefs but don't have the time or geekyness to post anything about it. That, or they are casual gamers and don't give a **** about how freaking awesome ME 2 could have been or ME 3 will be by changing certain things.

I liked the original better than the second game, but I don't **** and moan about it. Why would anyone want to hear that? I respect other people enough to know that I need to keep that to myself. Oh, and I'm also way passed Junior High... the level where you're supposed to learn all these social skills

Evidentially you're not as mature as you think. It's the internet, not a social gathering. They're words. Either people will ignore them, or will listen to them, either way it's their choice to. **** and moan as much as you want kids, it's someone else's fault for getting pissed off at at a forum post.

Sure I enjoyed the game the first time around. That being said, I would lie if I didn't say that working for Cerberus made me uneasy, especially with the organization being whitewashed so completely.

But like with any game, the more you play it the more things you notice, and the critical eye begins to talk hold. Its just human nature.

Nah, just go back and play ME1 again, it'll make it all better.  Then just hope we can import an ME1 save into ME3.  Hell, if we had known that ahead of time I could have saved $60 on ME2. ^_^

That's actually a great idea.

Give us that option, and simply give the few ME2 "big" choices default answers. That way we can skip the tiresome HR Manager suicide run and concentrate on the stuff that actually matters in terms of story and the overarching plot in ME1 and ME3. Those who like running errands for the suicide squad can take the scenic route through ME2.

The issue is not that of a crack addiction - The more people play a game the more the imperfections become apparent. The 'stuck in air' bug was complained about since day one, and BW has done nothing to correct it.

As people pursue more conversation options they begin to unravel more plot holes or inconsistencies.

People who feel negatively are statistically more likely to voice their criticism, the Mass Effect 2 "I HATE THIS GAME 4 EVA!" crowd is a vocal minority.

Also, this forum moves in cycles.

On one week there will be a lot of "I HATE TALI" threads, the next, "LIARA IS A TOTAL ****", then, "FEM SHEP/MALE SHEP COMPLETEL SUCKZ", the next "Mass Effect 2 is the worst game ever!" and so on.

Or was it delayed again?

This.

Although I would argue due to the poor main story and storytelling, plot holes seen in story telling allows others to point out the flaws in level design as well (e.g. waking up, Jacob's loyalty mission, etc.)  I would also call these plot holes, even if they're not part of the main story.
