The only thing I can think of is to suggest you update your motherboard BIOS as it is from 2007. I would also suggest you download any AMD processor and motherboard drivers directly from them. Also ensure you have the 1.01 patch installed for the game.

my pc has these specs, processor: AMD Pheonom 2 quad core, Ram:4gigs, Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 9600GT
Operating System: Windows 7, 64bit.
my mass effect 2 installed and run just fine for 2 day or 4, then my game started crashing and sometimes the computer has an unexpected shutdown, and the shut down happens even when i uninstalled mass effect 2.
when i tried to reinstall the game, midway through installation the game stops installing and says "a Data error has occured"
i reinstalled a new copy of windows 7 and i still get that error.
man i am FRUSTRATED, i paid for my game, waited a month for the game to be deliver when the first copy was stolen that was then replace by amazon, and this s*&t.
i better get a solution to this. WE BETTER GET A SOLUTION TO OUR PORBLEMS AND SOON. if me2 really is the problem bioware should have taken there time to thouroughly test the game before they released it.
i cant even find a pissed off emoticon

Windows 7 runs ME2 quite flawlessly. Chances are it is a driver issue with a piece of hardware in his system. I run Windows 7 and haven't had a crash on ME2 yet.

No problem. I hope it ends up working for you. The game does indeed play nice with Windows 7, so, I hope you find the issue.

windows 7 is not the problem, i backed up my files installed a fresh legitimate copy of windows 7 professional. mostof my problems were gone, until i installed mass effect 2 and the patch and played the game.
most of my problem happened when i played masseffect 2, this never happened with mass effect which is pirated or any of my other pirated games,
my copy of mass effect 2 is legitimate. mass effect 2 is the problem.
my copy of mass effect 2 still crashed.

I'm having quite a similar problem. Self made machine, I checked dxdiag and saw nothing problematic listed. I can post my log but I have no clue where to even begin. Considering it crashes at best as soon as I go to save Joker the first time.
A;
1. OS: Windows 7
2. CPU: AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 6400+ 3.22ghz
3. RAM: 3 GB for Windows 7
4. VIDEO: ATI Radeon rx2600xt(what i am thinking is the problem)
5. AUDIO: DirectX 9.0c compatible
6. DirectX 11
B;
1. ME2, brand new hard copy from amazon
c. Version Information: MassEffect2.EXE
2. System Details
a. Configuration Utility | Summary Tab

What; Crashes during opening sequence of game.
Why; Well, this is what brings me here. I have tried updating drivers, cleaning out the system, loading it from a fresh reboot and lastly, updating to windows 7
When; As early as the old man talking about searching for 4 days. As late as me reaching the original normandy's cockpit.

Try these steps in this topic:
http://social.biowar...6/index/1632473
I read somewhere that you can delete/rename the logo videos.
Also make sure you have the latest DirectX 9 version. (yes 9, not 10, not 11)

Mention of pirated games on a game developer's board = EPIC FAIL!!!

Tried 9, Me2 wouldn't even load. Double checked drivers, minimized video settings, used crap cleaner to clean out my system and even reinstalled it fresh after having to reinstall dx11. There has been no change.
