When you get Legion and Grunt you still need to activate them.  So what if you don't and then beat ME2?  Does anyone think you'll be able to in ME3 or if they'll even still be on board?

EDI says that Grunt's tank could support him for up to a year so depending on the amount of time between ME2 and ME3 he could still be in the tank.

As for Legion all you do is turn him back on essentially.  That could be done anytime.

Of course this is assuming you don't activate either of them in the post game save which I don't even know if that will effect your ME3 import.  Regardless, assuming you don't touch either of them what do you think Bioware will do with them?

I activated Grunt, but not Legion.  Legion would have been spaced if I had the option or at least deactivated after I questioned it.  But for as great as our options for choice in the game are, I did not expect to have the option to shut it down again, so I let Legion rot in the AI core.

I have no idea if we will see a return of those two in ME3, but nothing from Bioware will surprise me, actually. I am eager for ME3, but nothing will surprise me because while I do not know what to expect, I have learned to expect the unexpected.

What... even... the spanish inquisition? :o

On-topic I am wondering about this as well as how they would handle it if we didn't recruit Thane, Tali or Samara?

Tali should be dead on Haestrom
Samara still chasing Morinth
Thane most likely ended up dead when exiting Dantius Towers (as he says he expected he would had Shepherd not turned up).

Should be. They can make up any number of excuses though.

Tali can use her "engineering prowess" to somehow outwit and escape the geth.

Samara can catch and execute Morinth or vice versa in the time period during or from ME2-3.

Thane can...well, I'm pretty sure he is gonna be dead from the disease anyways.

i think it would be great if they were brought back even if you didnt activate them (except if you sell legion to cerberus of course...)

but like you said, depends largely on the time lapse between games.

although if you didnt activate them during ME2, i cant imagine why you would in ME3...

Maybe you have change of heart?  Or you just forgot they were there and finally realize it in ME3.  They'd definitely be disoriented though.

I'm curious, are Grunt (still in the tank) and Legion (still not switched on) still onboard the Normandy after the finishing off the Collector base?
