According to the lore of the Thorns of Dead Gods, the blade that killed the former Archdemon of Fire shattered, its shards becoming cursed and killing everyone who wielded them. Imagine wearing chunks of the Archdemon itself... disaster waiting to happen.
Of course, I suppose the lore is more of a legend than anything. For one, your own characters can wield the Thorns of Dead Gods just fine. And you manage to personally come into contact with the Archdemon and live without being cursed and killed (so far, anyway).
I have to wonder what Wade will do with the skin of a big purple dragon, though.

Wonder if it depends what machine you are on..I'm a PC user and never seen the corpse glitter (Archdemon) and besides..last part of that fight you see your PC fighting to pull the sword from the Archdemon's head, after that everything explodes..and you're in a cut-scene, so I don't know how that would be possible?

AAAGH disturbing though i just read the thing about Leliana bikini and then scrolled down and something looked like it said Oghren but it didnt actually say it and now im crawling to a phone in cardiac arrest because the images crossed.

Yeah it crossed like i said and know im getting heart surgery done on my body. See im still on form cause my head was shot of Fallout style and now i follow as a robotic thing. If my body dies then i become a french dictionary proof reader and i cant allow that to happen no matter what (Je deteste au Francais).

Just read a post above. The Arch-Demon doesn't give you anything. If you run far away the cutscene wont start and it glitters to get you over to it, i managed to loot it once but the only option is take all and it doesn't have anything like some of the glitchy genlock grunts.

Yup a trophy piece would be good, after all thats no ordinary event, killing an Archdemon, just currently ya can't walk over and loot it, darned cutscenes.

They'll have to take the archdemon's blood to grey warden HQ so it can be used for joinings. So why not use the rest of it.

I've played it like seven times and this is the first time it glittered. Immediately after killing it I brought up the radial menu(pause for you PC players) and when I closed it about a second later it was glittering. I was trying to click on it but it only lasted about a second before it went to cutscene.
This was probably just a glitch though. On PS3 sometimes enemies glitter but are unlootable or simply don't have anything to loot..

I don't think it did cos they get large amount of blood and keap it so they can do the joining you need a drop of archdemon blood for the joining to work and make new grey wardens

Actually 400 years was the exception. The four previous old gods were all awakened with in a century or two of each other, going by the Andraste to Garahel time line.
