I hate musicals :)

I'm sorry :(

Musicals are wonderful though.

Not all musicals are wonderful.

Just look at Spider-Man: The Musical.

I'm sorry, some things just can't translate into musicals...

Or how about Evil Dead - The Musical?

And I'm not making either of those up.  I think the Evil Dead one never ended up happening (though at one point it was in the planning stages), but the Spider-Man musical I think starts next year.

Its impossible to convince me that either aren't terrible ideas, from the very beginning.  At no point was there even the slightest hint of merit to either of them, but some jackass with too much money and time and too little common sense somehow convinced themselves (and investors) that it would be a good idea.

*sigh*

Granted, a Dragon Age musical would be slightly more bearable, as the subject matter would translate much better, but even still...I just can't see it being all that great.

Then again, I hate musicals too, so maybe I'm biased.

Evil Dead: The Musical was great!

So was Carrie White: The Musical (no Youtube video for that, more's the pity)

For a spoonful of lyrium
Helps the darkspawn blood go down
The darkspawn blood go do-own
Darkspawn blood go down
Just a spoonful of lyrium
Helps the darkspawn blood go down
In the most delightful way...

I still didn't like it (though I only saw videos online).  And this is coming from a huge Evil Dead/Army of Darkness fan.

Maybe I was a bit harsh, but the Spider-Man musical is a completely ludicrous idea.

It depends upon how they do it. Tarzan was one of the worst musicals I've ever seen. Gutenberg was one of the most fun. The first had terrific special effects, wonderful performers but the music was weak and it had no heart. The latter was well written, witty and had wonderful characters and tunes.

Hurlocks and genlocks and nugs.
(Oh, my!)
Hurlocks and genlocks and nugs.
(Oh, my!)
Hurlocks and genlocks and nugs.
(Squeak)

Follow the dwarven deep road.
Follow the dwarven deep road.
Follow, follow, follow, follow,
Follow the dwarven deep road.

Swallow the goblet of blood.
Swallow the goblet of blood.
Swallow, swallow, swallow, swallow,
Swallow the goblet of blood.

We’re off to kill Archdemon
The Archdemon causing the blight.
We hear we’ll be baggin’
A big-ass ol’ dragon.
It should a hell of a fight.
We’re off to kill Archdemon
The Archdemon causing the blight.

Let's... go... pull a kite
To end this lengthy fight!
Let's... go... pull a kite
Until it's boring...
Run from this beast so strong,
Strike 'til it's health is gone;
Oh... let's... go... pull a kite!

Just think of the casting possibilities. Tim Curry is a singer and dancer, so an all-singing all-dancing Arl Howe is well within the realm of possibility.

Thats kind of an off the wall idea...but possible I guess hehehe

Ostagar (To the tune of “Edelweiss” from “The Sound of Music.”)

Ostagar, Ostagar

Is this any way to greet me?

With darkspawn

Here and yon.

They’d look happy to eat me.

Thousands of cuts

Making piles of guts

Piles of guts forever.

Ostagar, Ostagar,

That damn DLC took forever.

Master of the Howes,
Teyrn of Denerim,
Amaranthine, Highever,
The northern rim;
Start with gentle words,
Settle it with brawn;
Seems there will be civil war
Despite darkspawn;
Everybody wants a Landsmeet...
All my titles they would rend...
But I'm deserving more, and
Maker! Won't I bleed 'em in the end!

“If I Only had a Taint”

(As sung by Shale)

I am furious at pigeons

And the Chantry's odd religion

But here's my main complaint:

Never drank the Darkspawns’ blood,

I have neither arse nor pud,

So I’ve never had a taint.

I could join as a Grey Warden,

Defeat a Darkspawn horde in

These settings old and quaint.

I would not be such a loner

And no one could call me “stoner”

If I only had a taint.

Oh, I could tell you how

To beat any band of thugs,

Or to work around any bugs

And who the hell

Came up with nugs.

Though I sometimes can seem cocky,

My life is very rocky.

My humor's just a feint.

I would dance and be merry

Life would be a dingleberry

If I only had a taint.

WYNNE
I've got a theory
That it's an abomination
A dancing abomination
Nuh, something isn't right there

LEILANA
I've got a theory
Some girl is dreaming
And we're all stuck inside
Her jar of butterfly eyelashes

ALISTAIR
I've got a theory
We should work this out

ALL
It's getting eerie
What's this cheery...
Singing all about?

ALISTAIR
It could be apostates
Some evil apostates
Which is ridiculous
'Cause apostates they were persecuted
Mages are good and they love Thedas
And lyrium power
And I'll be over here

SHALE
I've got a theory
It could be pidgeons...

OGHREN
I've got a--

SHALE:
Pidgeons aren't just cute like everybody thinks
They got them stubby legs and short little beaks
And what's with all the bird seed
What do they need such nourishment for anyways?
Pidgeons!
Pidgeons!
It must be pidgeons!
Or maybe nugs...

LEILANA
I've got a theory
We should work this fast

LEILANA & WYNNE
Because it clearly could get serious
Before it's passed

WARDEN:
I've got a theory...
...It doesn't matter...
What can't we face if we're together?
What's in this place that we can't weather?
Blight?
We've all been there...
The same old treaties...
Why should we care?

ALL
What can't we do if we get in it?
We'll work it through within a minute...
We have to try,
We'll pay the price,
It's do or die...

WARDEN
Hey, I've died thrice!

ALL
What can't we face if we're together?

WYNNE:
What can't we face?

ALL
What's in this place that we can't weather?

WYNNE
We're together!

ALL
There's nothing we can't face--

SHALE
Except for pidgeons...

Yes geet Whedon to write the Dragon Age musical, Neil Patrick Harris for Alistar, Felicia Day could pull of a decent Leliana.

A Grey War-den is a soaring soul
As free as a mountain bird
His energetic fist should be ready to resist
A darkspawned demon horde.

His nose should pant and his lips should curl
His cheeks should flame and his brow should furl
His bosom should heave and his heart should glow
And his shield be ever ready for a knock-down blow

His eyes should flash with a tainted fire
His brow with scorn be wrung
He never should bow down to a domineering frown
Or the tang of a genlock tongue
His foot should stamp and his throat should growl
His hair should curl and his face should scowl
His eyes should flash and his breast protrude
And this should be his customary attitude

Hiiiis nose should pant and his lip should curl
His cheeks should flame and his brow should furl
His bosom should heave and his heart should glow
And his shield be ever ready for a knock-down blow
